I had a bit of time between jobs and got it to work! Turns out Live 12 has a regular folder browser option which I found by accident. Moved my old Live library there and moved some ams files and told it where to look aaaaaaand it works! Even got some old presets and sample packs back. Gonna try to make a tune before “family fun time” begins tomorrow (Thanksgiving…..)
I bought a bunch of music stuff on BF, really taken by a reverb (Tai Chi) and an ambient synth (Cascade) I got and thinking about doing an EP/album of the two together to really dig in and get to know them. Sometimes spending money is a valid way to get inspired XD
played guitar and piano today till my fingers couldn’t do it no more (i’m rusty / out of practice) and it felt amazing. always is. going to continue to try and incorporate sitting down at the keys or picking up the acoustic everyday for at least 5-10 minutes. once i start i go for much longer. showing up to the gym is more difficult than the actual workout.
I’ve got ten days off from both my jobs!
Ran out to get some beer and now don’t have to leave the house until after this fucking Christmas madness is over with!!

Bought myself a slow cooker and quickly realized how dangerous that responsibily is in my hands lol. That’s the best meal I’ve made for myself in a looooong time.

Tonight i planned a date night with my old lady, and we’re dressing up a lil and going to a nice restaurant out of our way. I made reservations even. It’s kind of my towns version of Dorsia’s (iykyk) so not easy to get a table. This is probably a no duh, but I’ve learned that sometimes women just want their man to take initiative and plan the occasional outing, and tell them where do be and what time. She’s fiercely independent but damn it’s crazy how turned on she gets when i take initiative unprompted and tell her what we are doing without having to brainstorm.

If you can prove that someone is engaged in a civil conspiracy against you…you can sue.
So for example if people at your job are pushing you out because work is high school and it has nothing to do with your work or how competent you are…then you might have a case.
That could also be sexual harassment. It doesn’t have to be overtly racial/ethnic/sexual to still fall into that umbrella. All kinds of bullying and other stuff gets swept up into that bin too.
So my school has been doing this thing for the past couple of years where they beg as many students in their art classes as possible to be part of their musical, but the problem with the musical is that there’s actually no… original music. So I decided to put my name down with the prospect of making some tracks and whatnot, and it turns out I’m actually now an integral part of the structure.
This is essentially my first musical contract, so it’s a big deal for me! And there’s actual consequences for not getting it done, too

This is because I now own Ableton Live 12 Suite. I never thought I’d be the one to buy Ableton considering I was always an FL Studio Stan, but erm… It’s actually cheaper by $300 and just better 
Now I’m just missing the Macbook pro and I’ll be the typical “virgin musical producer” (give me a year to save the funds, lol)

No, Live really is better than most other DAWs. You made the right choice. Also if you ended up with M4L along with it, you’ve really got it all.
Maybe I’m a retard, but tabs were always awful when I was playing guitar / bass. I rarely ever tried to cover songs, but I was always way better off just doing it by ear. Whoever does most of the tablature on the internet seems like they’re just intentionally fucking with you or something.
Drums were even worse, although one might correctly assume that you don’t usually need them
