Tone deaf musicians are more common than you think ..
I know because I’m one of those tone deaf musicians
NEVER!!! okay maybe fl studio is still secretly my favourite but MY GOD I can work so much faster in Ableton (also because I own the account I can also just put it on every computer I have access too)
not to bust your balls bruh but congenital amusia (the medical condition of not being able to perceive pitch or melody) is quite rare. “tone deafness” is a label people either place on themselves the sound of their recorded voice made them cringe (a stigma even incredible singers suffer from), or they lack musical training or vocal skillz.
i’ve known people who are actually tone deaf and they definitely know they are not fit to be musicians. I did know one guy who had congenital amusia who made it a point to be a musician anyway and his music was terrible but he sold albums and shows because he embraced it and also was funny as fuck.
nah tone deafness is genetic and not as common as people think. they’re just lazy tbh.

Im self taught music wise…maybe I just have work harder at it to be able to recognize and differentiate between different notes.

Got a Pendulum concert coming up in a few weeks!!

I remember seeing pendulum in like 2006 or something (holy shit I’m old) and they opened with this (very 2006 lol)
and the entire venue was a mosh-pit. so fuckin sick. Hold Your Colour has a place in my heart.

Got offered and accepted a quality-adjacent job at the factory I work at. Not a pay raise…..yet, but my boss specifically chose me out of the three departments that he runs because he knows I know computers and am reliable.
Seems like it’ll be a cool job. I get to troubleshoot and figure out where glass defects can be reduced. If it works out, they want to move me around different parts of the plant. Either way, even though I’m comfortable in my area, I’d be stupid not to accept the position.
The glass department consistently gets more hours and overtime hours, so that’s also a plus.

Started playing guitar again.

Protip.
Plant one finger on a string and go up and down the fretboard with the others. And alternate which fingers are planted and which are movable.
Same exercise but try finger tapping the fretboard to build finger strength.
Using steel string…

After all of the bitching and complaining I normally do, I think I finally found a good use for AI. It’s got nothing to do with music and goes down some slightly-esoteric rabbit holes, but I’m pretty pleased with the results so far. Even when it gets shit wrong (which is an absolute guarantee every time, make no mistake), it’s still making the type of progress that I need it to, which is just enough for me to craft a little learning dojo. AKA, ‘how to keep an idiot busy’.
No more complaints about Windoze or AI? I don’t really know what to complain about anymore 
Scratch that. It was all smoke and mirrors, just like it always is.

I had a great time last night just jamming on a synth with a delay pedal. Today I’m moving into my first office. Co shared with our controller, but we come in on alternate days so it’s mine half the time.

Pendulum concert was fucking AWESOME. Got front row, up against the bar. Bit loud, totally worth it though - Rob kept on asking about the Brisbane River bull sharks 
he was fuckin sick… I’ll have to upload some images from the night later. Blood sugar into voodoo people actually bombed the crowd, they did it in 2023 as well and fuck it was crazy. Loved the opening with Napalm, they faked us out at the end and came back on to play Tarantula, god what an end
Y’know what the best part is though? Got a fuckin signed drumstick from KJ… One of two thrown out to the crowd - I’m still bloody giddy from catching it lmao. Everyone wanted a picture of it. I’ll be in the uploaded set recording as well lmao
