Redid the audio wiring in my setup to get rid of some redundant runs, reduce the overall number of connections, and swap some balanced runs for single ended in my effects send.
Not only is it more reliable, there’s less noise now too. Even fixed the ground issues I was having somewhere without having to spend any money.
Only downside was that was my entire night…

Dug up and transferred my last two omnichord music projects (the last stuff I was slowly working on before my computer crashed almost six years ago) to my new laptop.
The good news is that I had barely started on them besides just raw audio (omnichord, sax, vocals) and some basic drums, so I’m not getting a bunch of missing VST’s and audio effects, etc.
I also have the omnichord used to make the original songs on loan so I can figure out what I did with it the first time and also use it to rerecors a song I always wanted to speed up by about 5 bpm.
your approach to music is interesting, as always. i’ve never used an omnichord. i’m sure i’d enjoy it and find good use in it. there was some artist I listened to a looooong time ago that made an album with one but the memory is very dim. i’d have to ask my friend Ash because she was more into it than i was.
also, i’m so happy you & i finally have music on an album together
also plustwo, do you mean to say that you didn’t have a computer other than your phone for six years? that’s crazy.

Recorded a piece of guitar practice at a small cathedral I wandered into today. The acoustics were amazing and I’ll be comparing reverbs to this now (in some cases). France is neat-o.

had a lightning storm today and the wind gust ripped a giant branch off our 25 meter/75 foot tree in our backyard, ripping the internet coax or whatever out of the telephone pole. just spent the last 4 hours making sure none of the power lines were downed too (just missed them – we got LUCKY) and that we weren’t dealing with a hazardous livewire situation because that would have been fucked. also i was searching for my terrified cats because they hang around where the tree fell (i was genuinely concerned) and consoled them. also also, navigated through the AI gatekeeper that is cable internet customer service only to hear the next available time slot for a repair person to come out is not till monday afternoon. oh yeah aaaand i had to deal with a potential flood in my driveway and crawlspace because a rainwater drain that feeds to the sump pump was clogged with debris. HOME OWNING IS AWESOME.
my wife is out of town in Vegas seeing Bruno Mars with her mom and sister. can’t wait to sass her like “while you were having the time of your life, i was here taking care of business like a grown ass man” type shit hehehe. yeah i mean, i definitely am coming down off some major adrenaline rush but thank god for indica.
i’m grateful the tree branch didn’t fall a few feet to the left, long story long. feeling relieved, happy even.

That sucks! Glad it wasn’t worse. My last rental had five huge trees that always caused problems. Bought a house that only had one tree only to discover that it’s roots like to grow into and clog my sewer line. Fuck trees.
I played VR, smoked a bit o’ weed and mowed, then ate food and lounged.
