dope i wanna hear the playlist! also i was joshin’… me <3 Æ
I figured as much, this is the IDM forums after all! Who doesn’t like at least 1 Autechre song around here!
Sure, I’ll post it after I finish listening to Sign and Plus.
Fuck yeah back in the old IDMf days I think we had a test at registration which song you like by Autechre. Or was it Aphex? probably the latter. But yeah, it’s kinda of weird we don’t talk about Autechre more. Should we start an Autechre fan boy thread? @Gadfly instead of posting that playlist here start a thread with it and let’s talk Autechre. I’m not sure we have one. which is a travesty.
Also wanna take this moment that I love Autechre and @Mecha_Twitchy I also still love Blink 182. Not so much these days, but it’s more of a nostalgic thing. Dude ranch is still my jam. I think I know every literal second and lyric from that album. Can still play a lot of it on guitar from memory. Honestly solid album. Before they were full on pop punk. However I still love Enema of the State and TOYPAJI are well produced. And Travis Barker.
I was at their benefit show for the LAFD & various Firefighters organizations in Hollywood last week. First time seeing them live since… 2003. Time fucking flies.
I’ll never forget the time I saw +44. Travis had his broken arm in a sling. Still an absolute beast. Have you read his biography? If not, I highly recommend it!
Somehow I managed to get the limited dedicated edition of the book when it went on sale & there’s his DNA in the form of dry blood on a chunk of drumhead, in case we need to clone him in the future:
Aside from the kicks being nuts (as always, Dr Donk,) the intro scratches my itchy brain for some reason.
Still one of my favorite concept works. Love these guys
I was at this one in Santa Cruz. no idea if they’re still together
From our friends at Defunkt Records
Been on a dark dubby kick, helping me meet my deadline
On a massive Venetian Snares kick at the moment. The album Rossz Csillag Alatt Született is near perfection
Slowly been rummaging through Merzbow’s discography over the past year or so, and on this he’s seemed to have ambient noise down pat. Surprisingly relaxing listen. If you don’t like his harsh noise stuff his 2000’s discog is a good place to start.
Propagandhi has a new album coming out but they released a single - At Peace - that I can’t stop listening to. Thrash/punk from my hometown!
Propagandhi is some good shit. I have a huge, curated melodic hardcore playlist if you want to check out some similar stuff. I’m a bit of a connoisseur
Absolutely! Always up for discovering more like Prop.
I’m still adding stuff to it, but here’s about 7 hours-worth . Hope you find some hidden gems in here!
This is awesome - I see a lot of A Wilhelm Scream in there already - another one of my favourites. Gonna rock this for my workout today. Thanks!
Man, I think AWS is probably the greatest band of all time. You’ve got good taste
Amazon Web Services? lol
