The Hardware Megathread

I have no idea but it does give off that vibe. It was cheap and this thing was built godawfully. I just broke it putting only a little pressure on the neck :joy:

Eraser for scale:

that’s all that was holding the neck on. 4 screws not far into it. No way it would have held string tension lol…

Apparently it’s also a short-scale bass. The guitars like this are also shorter scales. I’m pretty sure three of the switches are on/off for pickups, the rest are typically for effects. The guitars had a phaser and fuzz, I bet the bass has a fuzz. But what else?

It doesn’t matter since they basically never work and often can’t be repaired :joy:

GWAR called they want their bass back

Apparently it was called the Bass-I and made in Belarus from 1989 to 1993 for 180 rubles.

And it was worth every single ruble

It’s worth $2.10 in 2022 :joy:

The buttons instead of pads thing is the one thing about my SP404A that drives me nuts. After playing with my Trigger Finger, MPC500, and DR660, switching to the 404 and trying to trigger drum sounds just plain feels bad.

Check out MPC Stuff and email them to be sure, but I think they sell replacement buttons that function more like pads.

the bigger problem with that is that they’re still not going to be velocity sensitive.

The Sp-404 is really fun so far. It will be a good Mpc sidekick

I love all the glitchy while still hitting. Nice.

Maschine+ is $1200 atm w/ 8 expansions
Maschine mk3 is $600 w/ 4 expansions
Maschine Mikro mk3 is $220 w/ 2 expansions

Until May 5th, 2022.

I told myself I might want a mk3 at my desk while keeping the Plus at the Jam Station :tm: But tbh the Mikro mk3 I already have is working out nicely. I don’t have any need or want for a full-sized mk3 at all. I guess the mk3 pads are technically better than the Mikro mk3 but whatever. I don’t want to spend the money for a marginal upgrade when I am right in front of a screen far superior to the little screens on a mk3/Plus :eyes:

I do not need another sampler.

I’m using Melodics to try and learn finger drumming and I used it both with the MPC and SP-404, oddly enough I get better results on the SP-404, but I can’t understand why.

Side note, I’m trying to see if through friends I can get a live gig in Rome…

Looks great, having no mutes is a bit of an oversight.

All those controls… and yet… yeah that’s a bit strange.

“The mixer is heavily geared towards live performances and should form the center of a live setup.”

I guess you can mute two synths at once (and can control stereo synths with one knob). But buttons you could mute several at once…

The power supply is external, massive, and uses a multi-pin connector :eyes:

In other news, I think companies that put up fake ass products on April 1 for the lulz should have the gd common decency to remove them April 2nd :unamused: (and websites that do articles on them)

You mean like this?

I think that means it’s doing AC/DC and providing multiple voltages, all while keeping the heat and noise outside the chassis. In my case, I’d prefer if this wasn’t 1 pound and took all sockets next to or below it to get the job done, but hey that’s what squids are for…
