Finished Fez. It was cool! The way I went through the game (never entered any sealed rooms until tonight) and the constant surprises made me think there was a lot more waiting after I entered those rooms, and I was honestly pretty excited to play more…….aaaaand then it just kind of ended. I liked the ending though! Played new game+ just long enough to get the first-person glasses, but I’m good. Glad I played it. Only took thirteen years lol
i loved Fez. i forgot about that game.
Some screenshots of the first area of Scorn that I finally got around to start after however many years of following it and waiting for a PC I could play it on (guess it came out on PS5 which I didn’t know about). Unfortunately you get some bulky weapons later that you can’t holster which get in the way of screenshots, and a debugging camera mod no longer works.
I don’t find the game very fun, it’s mostly puzzles (not my thing at all) and bad combat, but I modded god mode in there (you lose a lot of progress if you die). Doesn’t help that the very first puzzle is just awful, but hot damn, what an impressive visual and moody experience.
I enabled HDR through the unreal engine file, and am about to boot it up and continue my spelunking.
@Vlantis that is fkn sick
It’s VERY unique with its mood and visuals. The game sort of has a pastel/foggy color scheme, (there’s no true blacks despite these screenshots) which really brings out the worst of my TV’s inner polarizing film. I think it’s honestly one of the lowest visibility games I’ve played, but it’s still really visually impressive. The HDR implementation actually worked, which I wasn’t sure of.
While it’s pretty much a Giger fan’s dream, it also reminds me a lot of the movie Galaxy of Terror as well:
I’ve taken a couple more screenshots and shall continue my progress. I have ten days off so my sleep schedule naturally just turned into third shift schedule lol, although I can’t imagine playing this while it’s light out.
I’ll need to check this out. I’ve been craving to get into some kind of good game again
@Wayne I honestly don’t recommend it lol. It’s kind of a slog, but it has such great visuals. I’m just looking up the solutions to convoluted puzzles that I would never have the patience to figure out myself. There are some great moments, though.
I recommend Fract OSC for an equally visually stunning obtuse experience (this time with music sequencing!) Six bucks on Steam at the moment. Couldn’t finish it the last time I played lol:
Expedition 2 complete!
I’ve started playing Half-Life 2 on Steamdeck. I know, I’m only what, 13 years late?
I’ve had a Steamdeck for over 2 years, probably used it about 10 hours total before yesterday, 9 of them were spent on trying to figure out things, installing, updating all kinds of things constantly, wanting to throw it out the window because nothing seems to simply just work on it. It is quite the reminder of how much I dislike PC gaming…
Anyhoo, HL2 from the Epic Games app works in Desktop mode and is quite fun despite the no weapon zooming thing, which, on a tiny screen, can be annoying.
Just in time for HL3, you’re gonna be in heaven man.
I’ve had to wait like 16 years, you have to wait like 16 weeks XD
Finished Scorn. Because of the nature of how that game looks when plugged into my TV, I had lowered the gamma, hence why my screenshots are so dim (It’s already a very dim game). Boosted the brightness for these. Gonna save heavy spoiler images for an imgur link.
I have zero desire to return to this world any time soon lol. There were a lot of moments that made my jaw drop, but ny the end I was having a hard time from feeling sick (and I like horror movies lol!).
Expedition 3: I started to feel a bit sick and also had a mild panic attack when playing this part.
Straight outta Alien:
Endgame spoiler images:
Midlife crisis starter kit right here.
I’m blown away that MGS includes the VR Missions, because there’s literally no mention of it anywhere, and people online seem to be none the wiser (or maybe they just don’t know what it is?). Somehow I got hooked on that way more than the actual game when I was younger, and I can still see why; the weapons missions (especially C4) are totally bonkers.
Here’s a few screenshots of Solar Ash, which I replayed while on my break. It was the second Heart Machine game after Hyper Light Drifter, and I feel like it gets a bad rap only because HLD was lightning in a bottle. I’ve heard the PS4 version runs better than the PS5 version, which ran like shit in sections when I first played it a few years ago, but it’s good my laptop.
It’s full of vistas of places you’ve been to and places yet to be discovered which always helps give a sense of adventure, and it has a lot of topsy turvy gravity things going on and battles with big colossi as well.
Bought a used PSVR2 off ebay for cheep and now have my favorite psychadelic games transfered directly to my eyes vio OLED displays. Waiting on some prescription lenses for it. Also works with PC.
Not gonna lie. It’s fucking awesome.
Lol

Checking out this little thing called The Farmer Was Replaced. Or as I see it, Factorio for extremely lazy people.
It starts off incredibly easy, but after just a few hours, I can see the need to optimize shit and actually come up with better algorithms to make your plants grow, and faster. Honestly, if this actually provides a shitload of gameplay, this is my sweet spot for an automation game, especially since you don’t have to walk anywhere or deal with Factorio’s train system. If they ever come up with a Python-controlled Factorio mod, though, that’ll be hard to pass up.
I’ve been getting destroyed on Battlefield 6 lately. Very fast paced and hard to keep up. But amazing multiplayer action. I might go back to “Medieval Dynasty” Something relaxing about building a village and hunting some local fauna.
More nerd shit; skip at your leisure ![]()
This shit looks crazy; free-to-play, 6502 ASM on the backend, JS / OOP on the frontend. I’m not sure how the emulation environment works or how well it mimics reality, but this looks like a totally new type of experience. For people with a warped sense of ‘gaming’. ![]()
Here’s some pics I took last weekend of me modding the PSVR2 I got.
HARDCORE GAMER lol

After:
Got it working on my laptop, as well!! (A bit finicky to get my regular controller working at first) I’m a total sucker for VR. Still waiting on prescription lenses, but that might be a bit since we’re all snowed in lol. Gonna replay some old favorites on a much better head set before I get any new games.
Actually playing the VR on the laptop has been a pain in the ass, but it does look cool. It’s probably trying to do to many things at once and I was tired of fucking with it, so I threw in the towel and plugged it into the PS5 with no issues and have been playing Thumper, which is one of my favorite games.
I feel like this crowd would like it. It looks fucking awesome. I’ve competed the game, but I’m not as good as this guy. No deaths so far lol. I love this game:
