The new one or are you emulating the old ones? Steamdeck is a fantastic emulation setup I’m told. Anyways, I like them all. IIRC 3 is way hard for some reason and I’m not very good at it. But I can sit down and go through 1, 2, and 4 any time.
The first one. Yeah, it’s good for emulation. I kind of got it to replace my old hacked PSP, and I compared them for fun and steam deck obviously blows it out of the water.
I never owned a Genesis (I was a SNES boy), but my friend had one while I was growing up, and we played the crap out of it.
Yeah dude, I think you play up to like PS2 on there easily. If I could have had that in my hands when I was kid, I never would have gotten anything done. You could probably get PSP running on there too, to really push the point home XD
Have you ever played Splatterhouse 3? I always dug that one so much more than Streets of Rage, something about the horror atmosphere still creeps me out ![]()
Also, those cutscenes ![]()
Ohhh, I’ve got it lol.
@KvlT we always played Splatterhouse 2 which we thought was freaky. That was the coolest game ever to a couple of ten year old boys lol. I only played the third one much later, but never cared for the time limit.
Really stupid, and not even that high quality (also forget about actually finding any lobbies lol)
FPS Chess. It’s really dumb, and really fun to play.
@Mecha_Twitchy have you played Peak? I’ve been wanting to play it with a friend who moved overseas. We used to play UFO checkers which is shit, but it’s free lol.
On a nerdy note, I calibrated my new laptop’s HDR and SDR settings to work when plugged into my TV. I’ve been waiting all week to do this!
Here’s some calibration screens:
I love this stuff. I have a disc of sexy test patterns and anaglyph glasses that I can post exclusively to my OnlyFans if you subscribe now!
unfortunately I don’t own it, but my friends love playing it together (my parents won’t let me use discord to chat with them anyway, so I just can’t play it
)
OnlyDisplays thank you very much >:/ /lh
Started playing Hollow Knight: Silksong.
I also redownloaded the OG hollow knight for some practice… Lol
The game is VERY good, and for $20 there’s just SO MUCH of it
Moved my Friday evening shift to tomorrow morning and mowed my lawn for the first time in over a month (not much rainfall around here this year.). Have been playing Fe at 60 fps for the first time. Bought it on PS4 back in the day, then got it on sale when I bought my Steam Deck, but never got it to work on the deck. That game is finicky as fuck to get working right, which is a shame. It’s a favorite of mine. Very compelling once you get used to the vignette and depth of field.
I played through Streets of Rage 3 last night (with Game Genie codes because fuck that game) and I thought it sucked. Looked it up, and there’s some localization shenanigans that went down. They dialed up the difficulty for the US version so they could get more rentals out of it. Music sucks balls, too. Have you checked out Street of Rage Remake? I found out about it after looking up SoR3.
I suck major balls at this but I will prevail. Maybe.
Is that different from Streets of Rage 4?
@White_Noise yeah, it’s a fan made thing.
Is Bare Knuckle 3 supposed to be the superior experience? I know they have translated versions of it now (or at least that’s what I heard) but they sure as hell got my goddamn allowance money with that shit back then ![]()
Yeah, according to some vids I stayed up late watching lol.
You familiar with Zachtronics games? This looks in the same vein. I’m not much of a gamer but the Zachtronics stuff scratches a real puzzle solving itch for me.
Yes! Pretty much everything I post here are zachlikes, but there’s nothing like the OG ones.
I suck ass at them, but they’re fun
This story is funny to me, but maybe a bit too geeky when written out lol.
I’ve spent the last two weeks modding the shit out of Fallout 3. I played that game a lot on the 360 back in the day, so I figure since I got a new laptop, I might as well play a seventeen year old game.
Got to the point where I broke the game and lost all the sky textures and had to retrace my steps and repair it. Don’t have much free time after work, but I got it going with 4k textures and an ENB that actually adds color to the game and removes the ugly green tint. Got a sprint button mod mapped to my controller to add some sprint, etc. Got about 26 mods working on it.
Looks good:
I don’t care for the hacking minigame, so I grabbed a mod that made it easier, and this comment was left on the mod page, which you should read in the “Well, actually…..” voice lol.
Bitch, I just spent two weeks modding this game. Don’t lecture me about my IQ lol!
Anyway, I’ve been playing Fallout 3 in my spare time.
Well, funny you’re on this one. I finally started playing Fallout 4, after having the PS4 game barely untouched for I don’t know how many years. Mostly, I didn’t play it because I heard it was a time suck. And just this week, I got the free “next gen upgrade” for the PS5. What a difference it makes visually. It is pretty cool they did that, despite the game being rather old (the thing looking pretty old was my main gripe when I started playing it this month). So… yay!!
Also: FFS everything is out to get you in this game. I’m on “normal” difficulty and I feel like I brought a teaspoon to a fight most of the time. And those fucking mole rats will keep going after you nonstop quite rabidly. I died so many times already, just because I tried to exist in the wrong place at the wrong time ![]()
That’s cool! I only ever played FO3, but agree that it’s a time sink. It’s fun though. My modded version feels like I’m playing a remaster. A fellow friend likes FO4, and I’m glad there’s a PS5 version of it. I bet that shit runs REAL smooth!
