Shitty observation - if I had a nickel for every time someone told me just how much effort they had to put into AI to not generate complete slop for them and how hard the entire process was, I’d be a millionaire. Apparently I’ve been taking the easy shortcut the entire time by just creating what I dig the first time around

I also dig making my own slop, for the record. But it’s my goddamn slop

I fuckin love my slop! it’s amazing how much people would rather live in fear, write their own bullshit headlines, and never once even try to use it to their advantage before writing it off all together mostly because it’s ā€œhardā€. I think they are stupid. And that’s all right.

People who use AI to write for them are usually too stupid and lazy to even think of checking the sources used so that factuality can be verified. Clicking links and reading past the title and/or first sentence is sooooo hard!

Timely:

ā€œ(…) longtime freelance illustrator Lisa Carstens said fixing AI-generated logos, many of which have fuzzy lines and garbled text, now constitutes much of her work. (…) There’s people that are aware AI isn’t perfect, and then there’s people that come to you angry because they didn’t manage to get it done themselves with AI," Carstens told NBC. "And you kind of have to be empathetic. You don’t want them to feel like idiots. Then you have to fix it."

I like the argument that, ā€œDon’t worry, they’ll figure out text one day, too!ā€.

Sure, all of this shit will get patched. Maybe. But I bet it’s going to epically fail at the next weak spot we all shift our attention to, and the cycle repeats. If it’s not fingers, it’s letters. If it’s not letters, it’s something else we’ve all been missing because the letters were all fucked up and we couldn’t look away.

Also this is a great idea for logo practice – get AI to generate you something close-enough, and then make a goddamn logo out of it. I actually might want to try that one myself, since I still suck a bag of dicks at making logos but want to get better at it. This might be the best training method out there for budding logo designers – fix the shitty logo and win big!

This is actually how I AI lol. It has made me such a better fucking artist irl. I like to think that my trained bots are an extension of my mind in a way (or am I an extension of it?)
