As long as they don’t replace you with it, that’s pretty cool.
I wish I could show you the zoom sessions.
It’s “how to talk to computer 101”
The thing is, besides structuring and wording my emails better, Copilot sucks. for what I do (data analysis & compounding) it is no good at compiling the data i need into the format i need. In fact using Copilot would take even more time, considering it’s yet another program/app/system whose data I’d have to review since I know it probably will fuck it up.
yes I’m aware I’m supposed to teach it blah blah blah… but Copilot is really bad at remembering things. my company’s version does not integrate things memory i’ve noticed, so if a new thread is started, it won’t remember what i told it to do in a past one. this i can’t change due to administrator settings (i tried).
also for setting up automation in things like Outlook such as tasks and scheduling, not only does it always screw it up but a lot of the automations i could use (which takes a level of understanding of AI that I have, but probably none of my coworkers do), I am blocked by sysadmin from doing due to corporate policy.
I don’t think what i do is replaceable with AI based on the fact that the how my company stores data (multiple systems), and the complexity of most of the requests that I have to process, AI (at least Copilot) would seriously make everything worse.
EDIT:
One thing I do want to add to give perspective on why Copilot is ridiculous for what I do:
I work in the informational data area of the United States healthcare system – specifically in California, and specifically in the type of healthcare that is offered to people who are the opposite of rich, not even reaching an income level to meet the label of middle-class. up till a year ago as a californian i’ve lived most of my life either far below the poverty line (San Francisco) or only slightly comfortably above it (Sacramento/New Orleans) depending on which city i lived in, I have also always been part of that “i can’t pay $600 a month for healthcare” group as a patient/member.
the reason I bring this up in a conversation about using AI/Copilot to use as a tool for what I do, and attending these annoyingly early in the morning seminars to learn how to correctly write a prompt, is that most of the information I deal with is PHI (Protected Health Information) under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act).
if you’re not an American and you’ve heard bad things about our healthcare, imagine how messed up it is behind the scenes when it comes to how your information is handled – and i’m just at the tip of the iceberg. if you are American and you’ve experienced the nightmare that is our healthcare system, just imagine how broken the machine is that runs it. and this just my POV from the bottom as i am the equivalent of a dishwasher or janitor, but with data. one thing i learned a long time ago is that dishwashers and janitors always see a company for what it is because they have to clean everyone’s shit up.
anyway… my thoughts on all this in a nutshell: I feel very weird about analyzing, compiling, aggregating, and entering several hundred lines of PHI into Copilot to help me with my day to day tasks. Not only do I handle SSN, DEA, TIN, and other private information from several provider groups and practitioners on a daily basis, it makes me even more nervous for how this system is being used on the member/patient side.
we’ve of course been assured of the meticulous detail they’ve put into securing information but we all know how that goes.
anyway. yeah love my job it’s great. lol
I’m pretty shocked they allow any PPI in CoPilot. We keep all ours segregated and out of the AI arenas, but I just run the systems, I don’t know anything about the legality or intricacies of it. Maybe it’s turned some kind of corner, but I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable with trusting some third party with it.
I really want some company to replace its CEO with AI. Given how LLMs function, it seems like a better fit than replacing the people that actually do work. I guess it’ll never happen because then shareholders wouldn’t have someone to blame when they don’t get their extra shillings.
Paid Copilot is SOC II compliant, which means it is approved as far as financials are concerned. I’m betting there are other certifications for HIPAA info and such tgetcit holds or it would not be used.
AI can’t replace top management (and really anything above entry level finance) because part of the job is to sign off on financials. Reason that matters is that they are personally liable if the statements are found to contain fraudulent info. Since you can’t put an AI in jail (and we’re not convinced it would care/understand if we did) we need meat sacks who don’t want to be in jail to sign off on these things.
CEOs don’t go to jail* because they write the rules.
When something really, really shitty happens they say they didn’t know (hello Wells Fargo cunts!) and pay the fine, which is about the cost of 2 M&M’s for the company. Rinse, repeat & fade.
*The only exception may be if/when they steal from other massively rich people or corporations. Fleecing the masses over and over any possible illegal way is all good. Nothing more American than that, sir. That’s how the USA were built. ![]()
I doubt SOX compliance would be hold up if corporations really made a case for it. Hell, I’ll be surprised if it isn’t gutted before 2028 the way things are going. All you have to do is have someone on the hook, a proxy punching bag to sign off. I’m sure that’d pass muster for whatever government oversight is left.
C-suite AI really won’t be a thing because a Board of Directors would never emplace something they can’t lay real blame on, and that would be disastrous for shareholder value. As you so aptly pointed out, you can’t jail an AI, and you can’t really fire one either, at least in a meaningful way.
Anime sucks. It’s way to recycled and gimmicky.
The only good thing is the unrealistic fight scenes
Back pain.
Ow
Anime doesn’t suck, the people who won’t shut up about it do
tons of people tell me this about my taste in music, lol
what!?! anime does not suck!
well… some does. but not all of it!
Hentai doesn’t need to exist.
It’s garbage.
Trigun stampede is ok…
I wanted to finish reading trigun maximum…but honestly I’m not missing out if don’t finish.
i’ve never seen trigun
When somebody genuinely does some scumbag shit and does people dirty.
No I’m judging you because of your character and your choice to do some scumbag stuff.
Social victimhood is not an excuse to engage in degeneracy, it makes you no better than the hypocrites that you are socially a victim of.
You’re doing it wrong.
When you go running but then you have to poop mid run…and it fucks up your pace because you are trying to not shit yourself…so you wind up speed walking 2 miles to the nearest toilet. And it screws up your entire workout.
I get irritable when constipated.
Quote you a little while back:
