Ginger by itself isn’t a slur. It’s a hurtful word but not a slur. Gingers weren’t oppressed like the disabled or other races were. There was a point in time where disabled children were involuntarily euthanized just for being disabled, even when their condition wasn’t life threatening Aktion T4 - Wikipedia and as for non-white people, there was slavery. Redheads weren’t killed or enslaved or oppressed just for being redheads. There was bullying, yes, and bullying hurts, but nobody was ever denied a job or actually oppressed for having red hair. Yes the r word was a neutral word, but people started using it as an insult against all mentally disabled people, and unlike redheads they have actually been denied jobs and involuntarily euthanized and even couldn’t go to elementary school or school at all.
Also, this isn’t 1984. Nobody’s saying you deserve to go to jail or be tortured for using them. Criticism isn’t torture or imprisonment. The Nazi Party and North Korea are like 1984. If you spoke out against them, you get tortured and even killed. Accountability isn’t 1984. Free speech just means you can’t get arrested, expelled or lose your job just for expressing your opinion. Not that you can just say whatever and can never be criticized or held accountable. You don’t deserve to get arrested or tortured or murdered for saying it. But that doesn’t mean you can just say whatever you want. It doesn’t mean you can say “Fire!” in a crowded building and not get arrested, and it doesn’t mean you’re being censored or oppressed if you have to keep insults to yourself in the family gathering or whatever. If you think that’s 1984, then you’re being insensitive to the people who actually lived through totalitarian dictatorships. It’s like if I said my fever was the same as dementia.

I didn’t have a rant about getting too offended, actually.
What I did was tell you why the word is literally a verb, noun, adjective, and overall plainly defined word of the English language, and that’s why it’s not a slur. To retard is to slow. You can retard a fire. You can retard a chemical reaction. When someone is a retard, they are mentally slowed - that’s just what the term means.
Again, stinky is also a word that may be offending when used against you, but it’s just a word - not a slur - so what’s the deal? I think people bend the meaning of things too much to get what they want. This is one of the only times I stand by the “liberal snowflake” term, because people are getting offended by something akin to “poo poo head” or “bumhole” and it’s ridiculous 
I’ve also got no clue what this is supposed to mean..? This adds nothing to our conversation.
…And before you think “oh this is a middle aged balding republican hillbilly I’m talking to” - I am a bisexual teenager with a skirt and choker in my wardrobe, so go figure. Just so you know, I’m not mad or anything at you, just sharing my thoughts.

Dude, love you and I know it’s hard to figure out what you refer to sometimes, so maybe you’re thinking about something else.
That said, in 2025, in the US, those words I have quoted do not sit well with me. And that’s a MAJOR understatement. They’re just a cop-out for people who refuse or can’t be bothered to acknowledge the truth. Complacency makes you part of the nightmare that is currently unfolding in the US.
It is more than proven that one side is pure evil, working only for billionaires and the convicted felon, convicted rapist, known pedophile who is currently trying to turn the US into an autocratic, fascist state where he can be leader forever (he even said that himself), à la Putin and the other North Korean asshole.
That side has turned the military against its own people, has violated the Constitution so many times it’s not even possible to keep count.

Everybody knows it’s because she has said she will be the one last vote needed to force a release of the Epstein files.

They blocked some Supreme Court justices that would have been appointed before Pedonald’s 1st mandate, only for him to bring in 3 more during his term, making the Supreme Court fully GOP partisan for the first time in history.

Some people from both sides may be evil. Except for one side it’s…A VAST MAJORITY OF THEM AND NOT RECOGNIZING THIS IS NOT JUST LAZY, IT’S PLAIN WRONG AND UNACCEPTABLE.
