The Off-Topic Thread

Perfect way to put it, in my opinion…

Yeah, exactly. Nobody wants to actually solve the problems, because once they get a taste of… Anything, really, their morals go out of the window.
That also kinda goes hand in hand with this

Except it’s not so much accepting accountability, but rather avoiding doing stupid shit in the first place. For those in high power, accepting accountability just means saying “yeah I could lose my way of life from this” but then making it allowed anyway. (I know, I can basically make the rules at my cadet squadron. Not the same, sure, but it’s a similar system.)

I think anything involving human consciousness is a complex and annoying system. Government in the first place is a system evolved from beating malformed babies with rocks during caveman times, so the fact people put sooooooo much effort into useless practice somewhat surprises me.

Socioeconomically I’m a clueless gay minor, so I wouldn’t even bother considering my arguments.

If you have this

Which you do have…

Then your arguments shall be considered.

Edumacashion…

No seriously from what i hear they dont teach critical thinking in some schools is this true..

Because if it is murica is fukked.

Flip side…

People sometimes ignore the the traumas that others have experienced so…

And double down on their own ignorance if its pointed out…

As a result empathy and compassion is lost in favor of selfish dispositions.

It’s quite the opposite for schools, actually.
They teach critical thinking a lot, but how much sticks is the important part. You can put a kilo of sugar into a batch of cupcakes, doesn’t mean they taste good.
The schools don’t teach social skills and common knowledge, which is the key part.

One thing that really peeves me is my generation’s apparent inability to research information for themselves. Probably tied to always having a phone in their pocket to ask, I think. What annoys me is when internet users decide to ask me “What does that mean?” instead of literally taking 10 seconds to google it.

Selflessness is a selfish quality, when you think about it. Why do people act selflessly? To create a better image for themselves, or make themselves feel good. In the end it’s NEVER down to just “another person’s benefit.”

Thanks for the kind words, too.

NANA NO DEAD  [DnB Remix]

“Screaming into the void” is probably a sentiment we can all relate with these days

I asked Chat GPT about solipsism and the very cynical nature of the universe. zeitgeist is a very powerful thing and we reject the hive mind but we are not unlike ants and bees in the end of things. We crowd together. Or we run from each other. I do both. Should I be proud or ashamed of that? No, the thing is I should be ashamed of anything I say online because none of it really matters and those that are better than us get to say whatever egotistical self centered shit they want. Some people can have thoughts and voice them but others can’t.

dont take more than you give.

We can’t all be saved

Its pretty fucked up that the people you count as friends dont do shit to support you and then you see all their bullshit out there LIKE ME LOOK AT ME. Do I laugh or feel bad that they can’t see the forest for the trees

JULY 2025 (So far…): IDMf Off-Topic Thread Summary

:headphone: Health, Diet & Mortality (Week 1)

  • KvlT drops a note on losing weight without exercise—crediting diet. Reflects on belly fat, aging, and switching to keto.
  • wayne and others echo the shared pain of “getting up off the floor.” A new benchmark for aging.
  • bfk sets off absurd political-religious metaphors: socialism = worshipping social people, capitalism = caps lock religion, marxism = pee-marking territory.

:brain: Theme: Mortality creeping in through health talks, laced with humor and surrealism.

:speech_balloon: Ideology Rant Spiral (Week 1-2)

  • bfk: Political ideology = religion = circle jerk. Later unleashes a full-on manifesto about gender wars, social media psyops, manosphere decay, and fart jars.
  • Numerical: Joins in with “you’re all doomed” energy and critiques late-stage capitalism as tech bro-dominated greed.
  • Mecha_Twitchy: Drops savage wisdom about how humanity can’t escape its caveman roots. “Govt evolved from beating malformed babies with rocks.” :eyes:

:fire: Theme: Philosophical shitstorm. Satire, despair, and insightful chaos blend into an accidental TED talk on society collapsing.

:pig: Swansonianism, Gatekeeping & Honor

  • Ron Swanson becomes a metaphor for value systems.

  • bfk creates a Ron Swanson tier list:

    • Level 2.5 = bacon
    • Level 6 = seducing with saxophone
    • Level 8 = immune to Tammy
  • wayne accidentally posts something unrelated but rolls with it: “still hitting the blue button tho.”

  • Mecha_Twitchy claims “gatekeeping is insecurity.”

  • Numerical worships Duke Silver.

:joy: Theme: Masculine archetypes & internet honor codes meet wholesome banter and ironic self-reflection.

:brain: The July Philosophy Corner (Weeks 2-3)

  • Politics becomes metaphor soup:

    • “Community service as a graduation requirement”
    • “Modern activism is a gofundme with a flag.”
    • “Everyone blames, no one owns up. Crywanking contest.”
  • Globalism vs Nationalism: Mecha lays out a surprisingly nuanced critique of global economic fallout & societal decay—calls the U.S. a “kakistocracy.”

  • High school critical thinking: bfk & Mecha argue over education failures. Mecha drops a killer analogy: “You can put a kilo of sugar into cupcakes, doesn’t mean they taste good.”

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Theme: Deep societal dissection, edge-of-insanity philosophy, zoomed way the fuck out.

:musical_notes: Art, Music, and the Void (Week 4)

  • wayne posts “Nana No Dead” + DnB remix.

  • Mecha_Twitchy: “This fuckin slaps.”

  • The community rallies around absurd joy for banana songs.

  • KvlT jokes that ChatGPT praise is “a sign of existential loneliness.”

  • Numerical spirals:

    • “Screaming into the void”
    • “Some people can speak, others can’t”
    • “We can’t all be saved”
    • “Your friends don’t support you and it’s fucked up”

:broken_heart: Theme: The joy of music gives way to a sad collapse inward. Deep loneliness, reflection, resentment.

:receipt: TL;DR: July 2025 in IDMf’s OTT

  • Early July: Weight loss, memes, and anarcho-comedy about political systems.
  • Mid-July: Ideology flame wars. Swanson levels. Ancient baby beatdowns as political critique.
  • Late July: Music returns (“Nana No Dead”), but emotional vibes sink into existential exhaustion and unfiltered despair.
  • The Mood: A cross between BoJack Horseman, late-night philosophy stoned rants, and a Discord server that never sleeps.

I was going through tough shit last year and I made this for myself to remind me. printed and laminated, right above my computer monitor so I could see it every day.

Does this mean I win? :upside_down_face:

Every time I see beatdown I can’t help but think about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and the beefed out stands punching people to hell (country music) and back :joy:

Oh?
I don’t even remember that lmfao

On the other hand, a kilo of sugar alone probably wouldn’t be as bad.

Ugh - funny as fuck to attempt reading that with a straight face

I guess the remainder of july can be a post game play by play in depth analysis critique on nfl performance levels.

Consolidating this to do a chatgpt analysis

I wonder how many of us Chat GPT would recommend therapy to if it saw everything we do online.
