Since I’ve started using Logic I’ve been mixing in 5.1, but I don’t have rear monitors so i’ve pretty much been beethovening it.
@st3aLth to answer your question I like to think I mix in 360 degrees because I tend to spend half the time I spend (overall) on a track focusing a lot on panning and figuring out ways to create the illusion of surround using L+R. it’s fun but i’m definitely going to get a rear monitor setup going and take a crack at it. when i stop being poor and broke.

Changing DAW is a major move ! I can’t imagine me changing daw because of workflow you know. I think it’s very difficult to me.
How tf you mix for 5.1? 
Tho even if i make everything “stereo” the track can also sound not right. Facts ! It also means that i didn’t make it right.

Oh not changing DAW. learning new one. Logic does stuff ableton can’t do for sure. I’ve been doing post-production for film and Live can’t do that shit. So i’ve been learning Logic

I’m so lazy about mixing, I hardly do it at all. Yet for some reason, the resounding response everyone gives me is “Amazing mix – not really feeling the music itself, though!”.
You can’t win them all, but it’s hilarious to fail at the one thing you actually set out to do
