The Hardware Megathread

I feel you on that one. I have a bot that alerts me to in-stock 3080s and 5600x chips, and I can already be logged into the site, with all my payment info saved. Doesn’t matter, other people are still using payment bots to check out faster than I can. Every notification I get is sold through in 30 seconds or less. Closest I got was being allowed to choose my shipping on Amazon once, where they said it would be February before I got anything. Then it was out of stock and in my saved for later list. Really hoping this level of demand ends after people don’t get one for christmas and a lot of people fall out of the market, but I doubt it.

I’m still using a GTX 970 lol… ASUS Stryx with a case fan helping it, so it’s never running hot and its own fans barely turn on. And tbh it still plays everything I want it to (Conan Exiles and AC: Valhalla recently) and pretty well considering my massive 3440x1440 display. My main concern is it suddenly dying and I’m sitting here going “Fuck…” and can’t just go buy a card XD

I almost bought Fabfilter Saturn. It was like $40 off or something. Which isn’t nothing. But I don’t need it and I’m lucky enough that if I can afford $125 this month I can afford $165 next month.

I behaved and bought only some sample packs…

But out of sales I bought today a MicroMonsta2…

If I had spare money I’d buy an Octatrack Anniversary Edition to keep as a collection item

Beat me too it.

Is there anything functionally different about it? I’m doubting it. I will say it looks pretty sexy. Kinda has that oversized, clacky keyboard look to the buttons.

None whatsoever

All I’m seeing is Tetris and you lose next drop

For being my first one I’m not unhappy, I like the vibe and the loops I built, but the overall flow is not always there. I’ll need to tweak/add some loops as I’m short of higher energy bits…
Also I need to dial down the compression.
But I like it so far.

Honestly if someone walked into my local monthly, flopped down an MPC and did that for 20 minutes I’d be pretty impressed. No more stumbles in your first go there than a DJs first couple outings : ) Keep going.

And whether or not you rolled all your own sounds you captured the dungeon sound 100%

It was a mix of sample packs and microfreak/Model Cycles. One shots were mostly samples, from various sources (Included the much used by everyone Leviathan pack)

So here’s my first MicroMonsta 2 only test. I was trying to see how easy it was to make it sound like Automageddon. Answer: easy.
Sampled and sequenced on the Akai Force, zero additional effects or editing whatsoever.

This tiny thing is really nice to program and sounds huge.

Saw this on bbc 6 music website had to seek out on the BBC archive and post, not in any way phallic early MPE controller known as the Kaleidophon :stuck_out_tongue:

I just received Audio Parasite’s new black MachineDrum faceplate across the world and it looks awesome. I wasn’t expecting the silver touches, but it was a nice surprise. There’s more info on Elektronuats for the MD and matching MonoMachine plates.

I’ve always kinda wanted an MD UW. That looks really good!

Someone stop me before I buy a HapiNES, TherapSID, MEGAfm, AY3, and Deton8 from Twisted Electrons.

I’m in a mood… lol thankfully I don’t have that much money just laying around. Now where the hell is my Gameboy…

In other news, can get a Lime TD-3 for $117 and then about $65 with points. That’s just silly lol…
