I’m at the gym and that made me laugh, now I look like a pussy in front of my gym bros.
That is a sexy space, the tape machine sets it off! Also, the whiteboard with daily reminders is fucking awesome, I do that in my phone but that shit don’t work, I like how you got it set up.
I am about a week out from having the full project studio finished. Second rack is almost all hooked up and got a few more things on the way for setting the mood
The cube in the first picture came damaged and scuffed, so I am sending back for a new one that should look better but this is pretty much the final touches. Finally got both racks of gear up and running, need a few midi cables but thats about it, maybe some more aesthetic stuff down the road
Anyone have the ‘Erica Synths - Fusionbox’. Someone is selling one for $175. That seems super cheap for anything from Erica Synths, plus I think it’s discontinued
I figured they went for around that much, I know I’ll love it, they sound fantastic. The dude didn’t respond back, it’s a ways away from me so I have to wait for my days off next week. I hit him up the day it posted, I was like this dude can’t be serious. I hit him up yesterday, I’m hoping it’s still available because it’s a steal. The tube alone and drive is amazing on it.
I couldn’t find a used one to compare it to anywhere, including reverb lol. I just figured around $350is sounded pretty close range to what I’d at least sell it for
That’s a nice and tidy setup! Looks like a great spot to do some music. Makes me embarrassed for my sprawling mess of shit lol.
I’ve only ever used a multimeter, and that’s with making 90% of my cables. It’s not as fast for multipin stuff like MIDI-DIN, but at least it’s not a one-trick pony that doubles as a paperweight most of the time.
I’ve been there and done that. Now I obsess over cable management to both help me keep track of what is what (got to pick up a custom label for my patchbay to help with that) and to mitigate noise.
Sad to say I tried jamming with it all this morning and there’s a bit of digital noise in the left channel somewhere that I’ll need to track down eventually. Not too bad, and I think it might just be a channel overload. But with so much stuff running around it takes a bit to find.
Some pics of the cable management. I keep power and audio separate everywhere, run them down opposite sides of the legs and power goes to the floor while audio treats the floor like lava. TBH this is the part I’m most proud of XD
Ok, found two noise issues tonight, but both only seem to enter my interface through inputs 3 and 4, my Osmose. Not coming from the Osmose, but those purple cables on the patchbay that pass to the front inputs 3 and 4. The first is my laptop PSU. Use my laptop on battery with USB and it’s noise free. Plugged in it sounds like the start of a harsh noise track. My laptop lasts about 40 minutes on battery without being plugged in….
Second source seems to be my ADAT interface power. Again. Stick to 8 inputs and no noise. Turn on ADAt and I get that intermittent left crackle
Edit: was able to get all the noise problems significantly mitigated by not connecting the sleeve of the trs patch cables to the inputs. Turns out these are coming from the Super 6 and I think that one doesn’t have balanced outs. I have a radial DI that lifts ground as well, so I bet that would achieve the same result. Next on my list is to pick up a used Pro D8 and start running everything through it….
Got this little guy for a decent deal. Still have about 4 grand on my wishlist to complete my main rack and push my other gear to my secondary Im building
