Japan’s done it for years. TBH, the rest of the world wants to buy our debt very badly right now. So much so that people are taking negative returns on US govt bonds because they’re such a safe investment in turbulent markets. That means people are basically paying the US to borrow money. If it were me, I’d turn around and sell that debt to foreign countries on the strength of the dollar right now to pay down our existing debts and come out ahead, but instead we’re extending free credit to europe and other nations to help keep them afloat because the dollar is too expensive for them to buy right now. Which has the benefit of stabilizing the international economy I suppose, but at our expense. Hey, what do I know, I only broke the curve in international economics…

My new nickname at work is Joe Exotic. I don’t watch TV, so I don’t understand. We lose people by the day. Just lost two more. Tempers are running high. Quality control is on quarantine.
