forgotten 1993 gem

The drums are all an e-kit, sounds like maybe Alesis? Pretty forward thinking for 93

Damn, I haven’t heard these guys mentioned in a long time. I didn’t even realize those weren’t real drums, but I’m more familiar with Extraction from Mortality out of all of their stuff.

(admittedly I didn’t catch the programmed drums on the first filter album either, so I’m a dumbass)

This seems like a potential remaster, too. I wonder how much they cleaned it up, because it sounds pretty damn slick for '93 as well

I get this distinct feeling I’ve posted this on here at some point, but this is one of my favorite non-acoustic-drum albums. I thought it sounded sort of dumb at the time, but now I think it kind of fits.

Sucks that the main songwriter died a few years ago, his riffs were pretty insane

I think the drummer plays an e-kit on that. There’s also a My Dying Bride album that seems to employ the same sample or one from the same bank of samples. Not sure if its just the snare thats triggered/sampled though.

(not really metal, but…)

I was messing around in Audacity and made these male & female vocal harmony mixes of Deftones’ ā€œDigital Bathā€ and ā€œRosemary.ā€ Original vox + vocal covers. The end result is quite nice, I think.

Just in time for the new Deftones record.

Anyway, gotta say I really warmed up to ā€œCherry Wavesā€ over the years. When SNW first dropped I never really dug that one (though always thought it’s a good one), but now I think it’s the only SNW song I listen to these days. There’s just something special about it and its chorus has always been super singable.

Damn, finally a new band that doesn’t suck. I’ve been looking for one of these all year

Reminds me of The Crown / Carnal Forge / The Haunted type of stuff. Do you know these guys, @Numerical?

Don’t know how I missed out on this band, but everything I’ve heard sounds phenomenal. Also doesn’t hurt that they literally have 18 releases to plow through. This is so goddamn good

For me growing up Slipknot, SOAD and the rest I mostly listened with individual songs, ā€œDeer Dance - SOADā€ is a personal fav of mine
