- there’s lots of things i wish i did differently
- you guys did fine
- manton doesn’t ALWAYS do everything by himself lol but this is definitely his vision and i’m here for it
- question: who did you guys take the label over from? i can’t remember.
I did say I call for assistance when needed.
Wayne helps me a lot, even if it’s sometimes just being in my court/bouncing ideas off of. He’s been a massive help for this comp though, and also moderating this forum, so thank you @wayne !
They took over from RFJ. Then RFJ tooketh back and gave it to me (after a few years of dormancy).
And RFJ took over from… anodyne, Jaded, lolirl… who took over from me. but there was auto and stercog somewhere in there too. i don’t know. our history is complex!
We have picked 29 tracks out of a possible 53.
The number of order configurations (permutations) of 29 is 8.84 x 1030
To put this number into perspective, it is:
8,841,761,993,739,701,954,543,616,000,000 (roughly 8.84 nonillion)
Good luck to us arranging the track order…![]()

53 subs is impressive! Nice.
Yeah but 19 of them were your revisions.
If you’re ever stumped, open with loud and bombastic and work your way down towards quieter tracks at the mid point. Then drop in another loud one and work your way down again to end the album. It mimics how LPs were pressed (louder tracks at the outside, near the beginning where distortion was less of an issue).
Literally how I still arrange every album I get a say on. Something about it just works.
Yep.
This is interesting because, in the days before CDs - when vinyl records were the preferred way to listen to a band’s output - professional bands (and any major record company marketing dept), would all agree that the most important things on any album were a strong opener on each side and a strong closer at the end of the B-side.
Of course, it makes sense: strong opener lures you in and strong closer leaves you on a high note, making you want to listen again. You wouldn’t want a “lesser” song to end the B-side, so engineers had to figure out how to avoid potential distortion issues.
My style of track listing is more about creating an atmosphere and a journey. It doesn’t necessarily line up with how they did it on vinyl, but it does a bit. This one is going to vinyl so I will have to compromise a bit.
29 tracks for vinyl…. Shit.
How many LPs?
Might be a couple less now. some of the mixes weren’t good enough.
But 4 x LP’s none-the-less.
so is the cat out of the bag yet @glitchpulser ?
Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
Is this going to be released on vinyl!… Man.. Im spewing I didn’t submit for this now. Looking forward to hearing and seeing the complete package.
Yah, same dude
If only I got off me lazy arse and made something lol
Looking forward to hearing it, I might even pull my finger out and sort out some sort of remix thing if I can in the future lol ![]()
this is literally the best post i’ve ever seen you make.
