If you can make something for me to work around, I might poke it a bit

heavy emphasis on the might part, it’s unlikely :sob:

As a FYI, my instrumental track is done and ready to go. I am finalizing a version with vocals, should be finished tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I’ll upload both at once, so you are able to choose whichever you think fits best in.

My 7MM reel is not cooperating which is a shame as I wanted run some of the instruments through that 70s tape. However the project has been practically done for a while.

Hey @Vulpes! All good. If you can’t get it working before the 1st, and you have a plan to get it operational, just let me know when you’re likely to finish it up. Ideally, I’d like to have the album ready for mastering by the 8th.

I kept things simple and never looked back! I barely remember how to music anymore.

@wayne you genuinly made me crack up! Thanks for that.

You made a great song for not knowing how to music anymore!

it’s a bit like riding a bike. You might be a little wobbly at first but it all floods back soon enough

just completed review of all submissions to help out @Manton with selection. lots of good ones, therefore had to be quite critical on all counts: mix, vibe, structure, flow, ability to follow submission instructions, forum post count (lol). wasn’t easy. this release will be very good. impressed as always by so many of those who sub’d.

Ballpark how many months….2 or 3 months?

A few weeks?

I wanna see what people made.

Also will there be a b-side like for tracks that are somewhat decent but the judges are split on and couldn’t unanimously agree upon?

If not it’s all good I hope people will follow the tradition of posting the submissions that didn’t make cut in the lb.

FWIW when I was helping out even though there were so many hands on the wheel we usually knew what was/wasn’t going to make the cut in one listen. I only remember us hard disagreeing on subs a few times. In those cases, including the tracks always ended up working out. They were never the “best” track on the release, but they always had a lot of character.

OT but I’m not gonna delete it

Looking back, I wish we’d disagreed more and shrunk that management team faster than we did. We got into a nice rythm by the end, but had some rough releases on our way there. Turns out leading by committee in the arts really doesn’t work out well. A strong (perhaps even singular) vision leads to more consistent output. We tried throwing a lot of shit at the wall to see what would stick, whereas Manton has been able to come in solo and give a much more consistent output. I know exactly how much work that takes, its what I and the team I worked with couldn’t offer that this place needed.

Anyways, having been on the other side of this, I think what makes the cut should make the cut and what doesn’t shouldn’t.

What else is the LB for anyways?

Agree with @wayne A lot of great entries but have to be super critical because of this.

@White_Noise a singular vision is good for consistent output, yes, but it’s bound to break at some point when it’s not your full-time job. I call for assistance when needed. Sometimes I get it, and sometimes I don’t. It’s a difficult road to navigate solo so I apricate your thoughts on this. Since running the label costs money, unless we receive consistent donations, the reality is I won’t be able to do this for much longer, which is a shame because we are receiving some really good music lately. The hard push in the first year turned a flat line into a heartbeat and it’s being received well so that’s good.
