Damn, I’ll make a bassline, but probably won’t have anything submitted in time

I’ll see if I can cook something up. Do you want a whole song or just a bass?

On this and white_noise’s post do you literally just want a bassline, or do you want extras like percs, synths, a whole ass drop?
Cuz I’m making a drop of multiple bass sounds and drums and… shit

a piece, an album, a collection, my entire music career?

A song where the bassline is the prominent main element feature of the track…

You can do multiple tracks if you want or you can just do one.

Basically make your most kickass bassline…within the context of a song.

time to slave away at my computer until i manage to make the exact synth i want to make a short track

Ace of bass

Extra bragging rights if you hit the brown note.

finished it last night but felt like posting it today
had to upload it to google drive hope thats cool, i don’t use soundcloud
untitled1.mp3 - Google Drive

thankfully the only tedious part was doing the actual bass synth

basscore aka failed complextro that also sounds like witch house…

I’m listening to the two above while rendering mine. I went in a different genre/sound design direction, but I think you are going to enjoy it. BFK gave us a solid start, Mecha twitchy’s is very fun.

So for my track I took a pretty standard subtractive synthesis route with a few tweaks and some quality processing to get my most ideal bass tone.

The sound is a 7 core supersquare in Dune 3. I keep the oscillators free running to get the nice phaseyness in the top, but I have a triangle in osc 2 reinforcing the fundamental with phase reset on, and another triangle one octave down in osc 3 with phase reset on. That gives the really solid bottom end with a consistent attack. It’s using one of the analog modeled filters in Dune that are super good (at least as good as Diva, and that has the best digital filters I’ve ever heard). I have it going through tone projects michelangelo for light eq and saturation, then a ducker to give it a little groove around the kick. There’s two very light sends to a reverb and a distortion channel to help the mid range cut through on smaller speakers.

Grooooooooooooovy!
It gives me synth-funk vibes… Nearly UKG styled…
The triangle wave is one of my favourite ways to make sub. Have you tried using a tiny touch of FM and Distortion for a fatter sound?
The only real feedback I’ve got is that synth 1:44 being completely out of key for a notes? Is that just me?

It might be out of key. IIRC it’s a scale run based on the root note of one of the chords, but I just copy/pasted and moved it up/down for the other chords. I’m actually working on another song that does the same thing, but much faster and over like 4 octaves each time. That one sounds really wild, this one is like a tame version of that.

Still sounds sick though, the note might actually give it some character.
