i gotta be honest, i don’t think glitch mob or any of it’s former or current members ever made “real glitch hop”- more of experimental beats sliced with mainstream tracks. some of it was good, alot of it was trash imo but anyway the difference to me from bass music & glitch hop is the tonality & style. the drumlines are very different. i can’t think of any artists off the top of my head but the distinct style has a place. very similar to how the sound of the sp404 is kinda all similar sounding. i forget even that genre. anyway- glitch hop has it’s place just like dubstep. nothing really deep there, some complexities i suppose, and a few really incredible gems. it’s just not for me really. but i think glitch hop as a genre is definitely worthy of being called that. nothing that i know of sounds quite like it. but like i said before i don’t know much about the older tracks from the 90’s etc

I’m still on the lookout for shit like early edIT. I wish there would be some kind of resurgence in the genre, like when electronic and hip hop started to merge together and then suddenly nobody was into it anymore

Whatever. I’m going to continue making glitch hop for the foreseeable future because it’s fun
