This will always be peak Ben Folds forever
Tickles my ear holes
Listen trhough this album now, it kinda sits in a space between Rival Consoles, Four Tet and John Hopkins. It has a nice consistency throughout but with enough variation between tracks to keep you listening
Ben waiting for a new Ghengis Tron album for five years!!
Also been listening to Jahrun’s albums, which I randomly ran across. I like them.
It’s so funny hearing more recent Genghis Tron tunes, having only heard their early stuff when it came out in the early 00s. They’ve really progressed a lot with their sound.
@EvasiveManeuvers honestly I didn’t really care for the new one all that much because of SO MUCH SCREAMING. I feel less is more with that stuff with this band. I fucking love Dream Weapon, but not a huge fan of their older stuff.
I need to cherry pick some songs and might just edit out some of the screaming shit since I like the rest.
Yeah they can be pretty abrasive for sure. I do like the sense of progression their new records has compared to the older grind stuff. I love grindcore too, but the new sound is definitely more mature to me, even if it’s still super screamy
Anyone looking for some early days Autechre this guys got it.
Ooh this is ace, thanks for sharing
Totally missed that there was a new Infected Mushroom album in January!
Also missed a new Chris Clark release! Oh yeah!!
Also edited the new Genghis Tron album down to 5 songs and removed what shitty screaming parts that I could. I like screaming if done well, but this shit sounds like Brokencyde. Whyyyyyyy did you slather all this good music with early 2000’s slit my wrist emo screaming? Less is more. Still looking forward to the next album in another five years lol.
EDIT: On the oposite end of the spectrum…what has Shining done to my baby boy??? The last album sucked, but this is something else.
@triton64 Recommended them on an old jazz metal thread like 20 years ago, and it’s still so good:
Same band…It sounds like Avril Lavigne by way of Rocket League background music…
