One tribe applies pressure to the other, the other reciprocates…collateral ensues…outcast sympathizers pick teams just to belong to something, feel accepted, or for survival and they get used and tossed like a disposable diaper.
nuclear option: know anyone on the board? stakeholders care, and by stakeholders, i mean shareholders. make an argument from an “efficiency perspective” (i.e. impact to bottom-line; negative trends identified during preparation of financial reporting that are being obscured) or genuine ethics concern (e.g. fraudulent misrepresentations; financial misconduct; improper accounting) and people suddenly start caring.
or obtain an offer letter — of course common sense tells us dont present an offer for counter unless you’re willing to [i] take that offer [i.e. current co. tell you to piss off] and [ii] stay if current company exceeds it [by a WIDE margin because you searched as an out].

dialogue is always an option; granted, people will ultimately choose who they listen to. agree that being an active participant definitely helps.
confirmation bias, especially w algorithmic / targeted curation, makes combatting people in echo chambers incredibly difficult; moreso when it becomes an ego matter as opposed to a matter of truth, which I see everyday arguing w nincompoops.. alas, the world we live in…
