The Lost Well here in Austin is closing its doors in 30 days - to build fucking condo’s(i’m speculating here).
One of Austin’s last big Punk and Metal haunts. I know its not electronic music based but danm this hertz. Ive seen many upon many fantastic shows there and gave many upon many hugs in the pit. This place has turned me on to tons of bands and acts.
Super bummed about this. Kinda a huge blow to the metal and punk community around here. Ugh.
I’m sorry to hear that man. IDK how it is in TX, but in LA when one place closes there’s usually somewhere else to go and get your fix. Our punk/alt scene is thriving at a ton of small venues. I’m not super into it myself, but one of my close friends drums in one of the bigger bands and records demos and stuff for all the upcomers and there is no shortage of talent around here - and they’re all out playing plenty.
Oh yeah totes get ya. We do have some other places. Its just depressing. I love the metal and punk scene. It sucks having to shift around like this. But thats life heh.
The Austin scene will move on. It will find a home, plenty of venues. 
So many awesome venues in Sydney have closed down since i was gigging. Some great pubs and jazz clubs.
The local music scene just caters for singer songwriters and djs now as they take up less space.
It’s sad to hear that this is also happening in live music capitals of the world such as Austin
