I actually just put that on today, because i’ve never seen it before, so i decided that I’d watch while I’m working. I’m still near the beginning, but so far, this is “dumber than a mud fence”… like, everything about it. We’ve gone straight into SyFy b-movie territory. Maybe that’s the appeal?
Also, the fact that Weyland-Yutani supposedly got bought out by Wal-mart… jesus christ, who the fuck wrote this?

Rez sucks. The CG aliens looked bad even for 97, and Jeunet can’t direct action scenes.
The best character is the first to die, and Brad Dourif is totally wasted in that movie. The humor is bad, the story is bad, the movie looks bland, and I don’t like Weavers performance.
7.5/10 is an incredible rating for a movie like “rez” or whatever y’all are calling it. wife and I have a rule, if rotten tomaters gives it higher than 20% and it’s sci fi or horror, fuck yeah WE GON WATCH IT.
as for REZ, look, idgaf, but as long as there are no "on god"s or "no cap"s or "bet"s or “i’m a cloud physicist” (fucking TWISTERS VOMIT BLOOD OMFG KILLLLLL ITTTT WITH FIIIREEEEEEE) then i’m in. that’s all I want. keep the broccoli hair out of my sci fi movies for at least a few more years
haven’t seen it, but based on the reviews so far in this thread and the people who gave them, i’m certain i’m going to…
…think it was totally watchable. giving my review right now without even seeing it, here it is: it’s a movie. cool. i peed twice and missed some things, i’m sure it was super important. when i was paying attention, i made certain that what i was watching was in fact a film.
my spoiler free complaint is that one stuff that appears that connects this movie to the previous ones.
having a plot device that allows for the alien lifecycle to be sped up on crack and happen in a matter of minutes is just weird. don’t fuck with the lifecycle, mang.
I’ll definitely be picking it up whenever it gets released. I finally finished the first game two years ago on super easy difficulty, and even then I thought it was way too long lol.
Love the part with the derelict though, and have replayed that short section a few times since.

After giving it a second watch, I think Alien Romulus sucks. I won’t be picking up the disc, but I hope its success will get the rest of the films released on 4K.
It’s about as bad as Alien Resurection, in my opinion.
