I’m not technically laid off, but if my hours drop below 28 I can file through my company. I’m working today, for now. 
No Trumpbucks for me. Took a 25% paycut for three months and a 25% deferment until next year. Not going to break the bank as my other investments are still paying out, but it’s a thing I gotta do math about.
On the other hand, the stock market has been running a sale…
I’ve been able to cut back on student loan payments (since they stopped charging interest and I’m a cool 4 years ahead on my payments) to put a bit extra into my index funds right now. I don’t do much stock picking, just enough that I am interested in how my companies do, but not enough to make a big difference in my portfolio. I’ll get to the point where I’m comfortable making 4 and 5-figure stakes in a single company one day, but I’m not there yet.
All told I think I took a 15-20% hit so far, but I do have a pretty aggressive asset allocation since I’m still young (as in like half my money is in emerging economies stocks), so we’ll see how long that lasts. Comes at a pretty good time for me, I’ve only been investing about two and a half years.
The last stock I bought was a weed stock, Aurora Cannibis. I bought it at around $6 or something, just like 7 shares, and it eventually went up to $10. I was really stoked, and I thought about it selling it but didn’t, then the whole vaping controversy (people getting popcorn lung and all) hit, and the shares summarily dropped to $2. now they’re at $1 last I checked, and they’ve been ordered to cease operations or something, so the stock isn’t moving at all. It may have even been under $1.
EDIT: Aurora Cannabis is now at $0.71 per share. woohoo!

So I found this place in CO that sells CBD flower…its basically the NA beer of weed. Not enough THC to be considered illegal, but lots of legal cannabanoids and a lil THC…tell you what…I’ve been chilling on a blunt of this CBD flower with some booze and listening to mixes…I could get used to this if the real thing weren’t available

Got my computer back, stopped by a friend’s house to grab a but of weed, smoked weed, cleaned the FUCK out of my house, hung up my new collages, organized my small storage area, offered a shirt to my friend (she gets my castoffs), she accepted, smoking weed now and playing video games, saving computer stuff for later in the day.
Not illegal where? I’m pretty sure weed with any amount of CBD or THC is still federally illegal.
Hahaha. I dunno but I get it in the mail…actually in Ohio there is a legal difference between pot and commerical hemp. At least here I wouldn’t get arrested for having it …well theyd have to test it cuz it looks and smells like weed lmao

You have it shipped from Colorado? Cuz that definitely is still illegal. It doesn’t matter if it’s a CBD strain lol I mean if it’s hemp, yeah, that’s a bit different, you don’t smoke hemp, but if it’s flower, that’s designed to be smoked, that’s weed, doesn’t matter the CBD to THC ratio.
I know strains with more CBD are supposed to be a bit more relaxed, better for mellowing out, but that’s definitely still weed. I know CBD itself is kind of a gray area, weed is still federally illegal.
Who are you having it shipped out by? Is it a retail dispensary?
Well the THC content is like .03% in the strain I have right now. So I don’t know if that federally counts as marijuana?
I’m getting it direct from the farm in CO. I will DM you the link to their web shop. I got it in the mail no issues last time. I just re-upped with them last night. I will post from prison if I get there lol

Today I shamelessly did nothing to benefit any of the rest of the human race except by staying away from the rest of it. Played computer games, did some chores, cooked and watched a lot of Deep Space Nine. Had some proper nerdy chats which were a hoot.

Tonight is shrimp scampi night. Planted some tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, cilantro, and waiting on the corn, garlic and green onion to come up a bit more. Going to make another run for some starts of other veggies tomorrow. Pretty productive day, drinking some beers and prepping now so I can talk shit and annihilate 12 year olds on call of duty.

Interesting… when I think of hemp, I always thought of the stocks of cannabis plants, distinct from the flower, where the THC usually is. But apparently, the legal definition of “marihuana” as a controlled substance is defined as excluding hemp, being defined as any part of the cannabis sativa plant with under .3% of THC content.
I always think of hemp as rope, clothing, paper, handbags, things like that. But if it’s ANY part of the plant that is still <.3% THC, I guess flower would qualify.
This may be kind of a gray area tho, because while the US 2018 Farm Bill took hemp off the list of schedule substances, the FDA has only approved one CBD product, Epidoliex, which is used for treating seizures. Anything being ingested in some way usually needs some kind of oversight by the FDA… however, hemp, being any part of a cannabis plant with <.3% THC is legal. So it’s kinda weird, technically, this stuff could be legal, but you’re ingesting it which needs health regulation.
Some states have actually banned smoking hemp. Certainly if it looks like weed, and smells like weed, I’d keep it out of site of any law enforcement officers.
Also, a minor note: That place you linked me to is based out of Oregon, not Colorado.

That’s all very interesting and much of what you say is what the laws in Ohio sound like. And yea…I’m not sure anyone is regulating this stuff which I didn’t think of…but I’ve smoked almost a quarter of it over a month and no ill effects that regular illegal weed doesn’t have.
In Ohio you technically can’t be charged for possession of hemp versus marijuana and the THC level the differ between the two is the same.

As far as the effects go, I like it. By itself I still get what I can only describe as that “lifted” feeling but I’m not stoned. And it is very relaxing. Both these effects peak and last in a much shorter time than marijuana. The kind I’ve got right now is there Sour Space Candy which has a really Terpenes level — if you are interested in the science of how marijuana affects you should research Terpenes. It isn’t proven, but some scientists think that w/o these THC wouldn’t actually have much affect as far as psychotropic effects on the brain.
I’m not a huge fan of the flavor of this strain b/c. It kind tastes like you smoking rope juuuuust enough it has a little grossness to it. By itself I’ve been vaping it (finally bought a vape) or mixing it with real weed.
I was chatting with the owner of the business/farm online and he said he mixed the CBD flower 70/30 with real weed for morning and afternoon smoking and I have to say that is a choice combo. If someone wanted to use CBD for anxiety but liked smoking or vaping flower as a consumption method I’d highly recommend CBD flower. If I vape a full pack of the stuff I have now in the morning and have a cup of coffee its pretty blissful.
At night if I have nothing to do the next day I like putting a bowl pack of real deal in with the CBD flower and rolling a small blunt and just chillin’ on that all night. The effect is difficult to describe…instead of getting stoned immediately from smoking just the bowl of reg stuff I can kind of slowly climb this hill until its bed time.
When we get our shit sorted with pot at the Fed level I can see CBD flower having a niche place in the market. Its also great to stretch your stash if you are running low : )
