Hello, @prottto and a warm welcome!
SubmitHub has been under my radar until you brought it to my attention. Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll check it out.
I stumbled upon a video for a plugin called MixChecker Ultra that claims to simulate different media outputs to check your mixes. If it works, it might be useful or it may be just snake oil.
I remain sceptical about anything that claims to bypass years of experience and a decent pair of ears.
Anyone using it?
While I don’t use plugins that simulate different media outputs (no need for it - I have a full hi-fi system, a portable digital Sony player, a CD player drive, a CD player in the car, etc.), I’ve been using Re-Head by Blue Cat Audio which is focused on headphone reliability. I like it.
Blue Cat strikes again! Most underrated VST company, I’m pretty sure
This looks like a much more sensible option than MixChecker. I, too, have a house full of consumer audio electronics so why simulate them? What you say makes perfect sense so I’m downloading Re-Head as I type. Going to try it on my anniversary compilation entry (?!)
I love this place because you pick up excellent tips/recommendations you had no idea existed; every day’s a school day and I think it’s just great.
