Mick Math – Exilio en 4 Tiempos (Electro / Tango / Experimental)

Hey everyone,

It’s been a while — I haven’t had much time to hang around here lately, so sorry about that.

I just released a new track under my project Mick Math called “Exilio en 4 Tiempos.”

It’s a mix of electronic and influences inspired by tango — something a bit hybrid and evolving.

I’d really appreciate any feedback if you have the time to listen. Always curious to hear what this community thinks.

Here’s the video:

Thanks, and glad to be back here.

Ooh I like this! What an interesting combination of influences, and I’m loving the dubby feel. I would totally put on a whole album of this.

I’m also reminded a little of Cristobal Tapia de Veer’s soundtrack work. I’m a huge fan of his stuff

Thank you so much! Yes, I think the dub touch is the common thread running through all my tracks.
If you enjoyed this one and want to hear more, you can check out my YouTube, Bandcamp, or SoundCloud page — whichever you prefer.
As for the album, I’m thinking about it; I already have 5 or 6 tracks.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen, and I’m definitely going to check out Cristobal Tapia de Veer since I didn’t know his work at all!

Nice one!

It might have been a weird association of mine, but I really like how he blends influences into this kind of uncanny style. My favourite work of his is the soundtrack to Utopia (channel 4 thriller series), Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and mote recently he did the theme for White Lotus.

I listened to it and it’s really inspiring — it’s definitely going to give me ideas for my next track :slightly_smiling_face:

I need to listen more, but on a first listen there’s something quite repetitive with subtle changes that I really like in his music, similar to other composers like Philip Glass or Steve Reich.

Cool! Yeah it’s super inspiring stuff. I feel his work is a good example of art that comes together as something that’s more than just the sum of its parts, if that makes sense

Also I was high out of my gourd when I first saw Utopia and heard that soundtrack, to be fair

The issue isn’t liking it while you’re high, it’s knowing whether the track is still good once you’re sober lol.
