I think generating the whole sound file is the wrong approach (generating a score would be better in my opinion), but even in this format, it can speed up what would have taken the better part of a day or longer to put together. If iteration is plausible, then music has the potential to become more complex than ever before, even if you just use audio files. It’s a good thing to happen, but it could be even better.
