SO, My Wife was about to throw out her old iPad (3rd Gen!) and I thought lets see if this thing can do anything music wise…
I’m quite old skool, mainly use older hardware etc, and did’nt realise how powerful these iPads can be for music production!
I’m kind of blown away, and can see me going down a deep rabbit hole with this stuff…I’d like to know your favourite free synths/drum machines and other music stuff for the iPad?
So far I’ve only really used NanoStudio v1 Free app…
I like "Koala "for sampling. You can make beats and sequences with it too, but I just use it to sample. You press a pad and it starts recording based on an audio threshold. Lift finger off the pad and it stops recording. very easy and simple to use. once I have 4 full banks (64 pads) of samples, it’s very easy to export a zip file of the raw or edited samples to your cloud drive of choice.
One caveat is that it’s not free, but it’s only 5 bucks i think. Worth it!
