If you want to collaborate with Glitchpulse, please read first - a note from Nick

Why does this label exist?
This label exists because I genuinely love the music and the people around it. It isn’t a commercial venture or a career move. It’s an outlet that enriches my life through discovering unheard music and giving it a platform within a community that cares.

What kind of artists are you looking for?
I’m drawn to artists who are self-reflective, easygoing, and open to collaboration. If your work fits the label’s aesthetic and sound, I won’t ask you to change it. If I believe something can be improved, I’ll say so, honestly and respectfully.

How involved are you creatively?
It varies. Sometimes the best contribution is to leave the work untouched. Other times, constructive feedback can elevate a release. Mutual trust and respect are essential.

What mindset doesn’t work well here?
If you believe your music can’t be questioned, this likely isn’t the right fit. We exist in a world of billions of tracks. The goal isn’t to rise above the noise, it’s to connect with a community that values what we do and let things grow organically.

Is the label commercially driven?
No. This isn’t my job, and it isn’t run for money. If you’re looking for a purely transactional or commercial relationship, there are labels better suited to that.

What does success look like?
Being able to look back at the end of the year and genuinely feel proud of what we made, and how we made it. Creative work should feel rewarding, not stressful.

If this approach resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you glitchpulse team for being a community for artists and for helping artists to “art” to their full potential.:100:

I have a lot of respect for what @Manton has been able to achieve with Glitchpulser. I think the label is doing exactly what it needs to do and this is the kind of thing we need to be clear about to attract the right artists. This understanding beforehand is best for both sides.

Not only am I a founder of the label but I am much more proud to be an IDMf Artist with my music sitting amongst some of the greatest. I’ve watched this project rise up and down, experience glory and pitfalls, but right now I can say that I am lifelong fan of Glitch Pulse Records. When the IDMf Netlabel fizzled to defunct status basically, Nick saw potential for something greater. He outlined a vision, and ran with it. It’s been a little over a year now and I’ll just say this: I thought I was proud of what we accomplished with this label when I retired from it at about 30 releases, and now at well over 90, I’m exponentially more proud of it. The trajectory @Manton pursued is exactly what I wanted for it 20 years ago but BETTER.

Having your music mastered by Darren Ziesing alone is a reason to be a part of this

i can’t fkn count dude, and don’t even ask about how i experience time compared to normal, especially when relying on my memory which is basically a cloud storage with 666mb available

By the way, this wasn’t meant to be a praise me thread. I just like to be transparent and I think it’s important that people know what they’re getting involved with.

Yeah i know. it was more to add experiential encouragement to producers reading this if they are on the fence and don’t know where to outlet their music. not necessarily meant to praise

Not to (intentionally) add any more praise to the thread, but I think it’s pretty remarkable to have a place where work can be submitted and actually considered for release, even by total outsiders without some kind of preexisting clout or relationship with the label - especially in an era of karma-farming and random noise happening everywhere.

I hope this encourages artists (especially the budding ones) to put something together; an EP, a compilation track, etc, and give it a chance. It’s a niche market (if you can even consider it a ‘market’ at all - probably more a labor of love), of course, but that’s what makes it fun, and extremely meaningful. Great work, as usual!

yeah, as someone who has no idea or not willing to damage my mental health advertising my music on social media, stuff like this is a nice option. having to probably compromise on my vision is better than nothing at all. I only really know the old school way of doing things (doing live shows and selling demo tapes), which is extremely difficult where i am now.

lol we all have to compromise on our individual visions, that’s part of life. the reason we started this whole thing is because we didn’t see any other way back then… now, as some ass-hat recently troll-splained to me, “anyone can release music” but the point is that ours is a collective. ragamuffin as we are, we’ve been here this whole time, some left, a few came back, and there’s always someone new to meet and their music to get acquainted to. it’s pretty badass. so that troll out there, i didn’t get to say this before I kicked you from the channel: you just don’t get it, and that’s ok. we do.
