Righto peeps, it’s just so happens that a few days ago discourse introduced a native hCaptch plugin. I have updated the forum and activated this so we should be protected from those spammy bots now. I have re-enabled user registrations

So far just the one user since the change. Hopefully it was just a blip.
At least i don’t see a flood of bots active rn, hopefully the captcha can catch most of them.
There are some additional checks behind the scenes i’m going to implement as well that should help, i was going to do it yesterday, but my IRL job required my attention. I’ll see what i can get done today.
@Manton and I will keep our eyes on this over the coming days, and will do what we can to prevent this nonsense from occurring again.

If need be I can increase the complexity of the captcha with a puzzle as well.

Probably falls under unnecessarily complex, but having to (virtually) patch something stupid simple like VCO > Envelope > VCA > Mixer would make a goddamn amazing Captcha. 1 billion bonus points if the Captcha actually played sound while you did it.
