SHARK FACT:
Did you know that SHARKS are older than SATURN’S RINGS?

I’m more of a seal person, so it’s tough for me to root for sharks. But I used to have a stuffed shark that said very loudly in a very bad british accent “I’M A HAMMERHEAD SHARK - I HAVE NO BONES - MY SKELETON IS MADE OF CARTALIDGE!” and “MY HEAD LETS ME SEE SWIM AND HEAR - REALLY WELL” and quite ironically “I’M A HAMMERHEAD SHARK - I MAKE NO SOUNDS” (says the stuffed animal you can hear from across the house).

TBH I don’t give a shit about most things but sharks are also pretty low on the list

Ah yes, Street Sharks: cheap TMNT rip off hype for the 90s childhood.

Just in case y’all born after 1995 weren’t already aware of this: the 1990s were… really fuckin weird. we’re still recovering.

JAWSOME!!

I have a video of me petting a reef shark during a scuba dive in Indonesia on a harddrive somewhere I want to post but for now this is pretty cool..

Also speaking of the 90s, honorable shoutout to my favorite character from Eek! the Cat: Sharky.

I always wanted a grumpy half shark half dog as a pet. ¡Viva la Sharky! Poor Sharky, always enduring the negative effects of Eek’s attempt at goodwill.

I have no idea if anyone remembers this show lol but I used to love it.

I fuckin love sharks.

I thought Street Sharks were so badass for 5 minutes. And Gargoyles, for some reason. I’m pretty sure neither of them made it past season 3, lol

This isn’t about shark week anymore, but I miss the 90s man. I miss blobjects - designs there to look cool and that’s it.

I also remember liking the Gargoyles. If I remember correctly they had a crossover with the Mighty Ducks at some point. Or maybe that’s just a fever dream. I was like 4 and newly diabetic so don’t trust my memory on that.

DEEEEWWWD Gargoyles was actually good. I won’t watch it now because I don’t want to ruin it.

Ummmm… gonna play a game called “It’s not a shark” and just drop these here…

I’m rewatching Batman right now and it is still amazing. No need to worry about ruining your memories with that one.

So back on sharks, you guys remember a few years back when sharks were chasing narco subs because they were addicted to the cocaine the subs dumped overboard if they were caught?

I got around to seeing Cocaine Bear a few months back and I feel like there’s an amazing opportunity for a sequel about Cocaine Shark. Then the inevitable versus movie down the line. Then the further team up movie against the narcos to get their fix.

And they fuse in a tornado and become cocaine sharkbear…vs the genetically engineered cocaine bearshark…

Cocaine audio can do the foley and sound editing.

I’m a cultural fetus compared to other’s tastes here, but I’ve watched these myself, actually… Batman was my favourite…

See, sharks know where it’s at. If they could they’d probably develop their own shark societies with entire shark crackheads.

I also love the fact that tiger sharks will eat anything - there’s probably part of if not an entire sound system stuck inside of those beasts…

I rewatch BMTAS probably once a year

Ask and ye shall receive, friend

shark week may be over for TV, but for IDMforums, it runs 24/7365 thanks to you.

here’s a couple pictures of whale sharks that I took snorkelling with a huge pod (about 120) of them dozens of miles offshore from the Cozumel, Yucatan, just outside the southern peninsula of the Gulf of Mexico (we still call it that).

unfortunately using an awkwardly encased DSLR to take a selfie underwater as hungry 30’ fish glide around you with giant vacuum-mouths threatening to unintentionally confused you with an oversized krill will make you reconsider as taking your attention off them for even a split second can actually be quite dangerous for you and the whale shark.

still looking for my petting a shark photo, but this is the one I took of her (she was actually sleeping peacefully) before I attempted to get close. this is on my 6th scuba dive ever in Komodo archipelago, Indonesia. oh btw, FYI I didn’t actually touch her with my hands, as physical contact with these animals can harm them and their biomes (we’ve harmed them enough). also, uhhhh… not trying to wake an 8 foot shark while hovering directly next to them LOL. my friend took said photo on their camera and they’ve since archived it, oh well, so you’ll just have to imagine.

On the itinerary when I go to Japan is going to see one of few whale sharks in captivity in the world and trying to get a selfie with it (from outside the tank). I am kind of interested in picking up scuba diving so I can go out and see them in person, but then I have this fear of open water so yeah, IDK.

Scuba in general seems like a fun hobby where you have to go through your checklist and check everything twice (process) and then you get to go on the dive (payoff). But expensive and dangerous as fuck all if you make a mistake.

That is so cool and so wholesome at the same time :shark:

has anybody seen the og shark cuddles before?
