I don’t have my emails from that far back, but I think I joined around 2014 or so. Even if I’m not a very active contributor anymore, this place is going to be part of me forever.
I think we can say the same about our impact on music at this point too. People might not know our names/songs, but I don’t see how anything sticks around for 20 years without steering the conversation in its scene a bit. Whether you know how or not, I have no doubt this place is a part of music and Internet history.

What the hell happened to the search function in Gmail. fuck i’m glad I don’t use Gmail anymore. I searched IDM forums and only stuff from 2025 came up. I turned on smart features in settings and then zero search results. Then I searched Electronic Music Forums and bam!

This is crazy, totally bringing back memories. And I’d completely forgotten the little DAW icons in profiles. It’s an interesting bit of nostalgic joy to see this stuff again.

I made the artist and moderator icons. Nice to see them pop up again!
There was a Guru icon and the original “Supporter” icon, and one more green one with a white android/roboto head, if I remember correctly.
Yeah, very fun thread. Nice to see Sveldt’s name after all these years.
EDIT: I read “lolirl” as Sveldt in my head lol.
