Glitchpulse Records Presents: IDM // Perspectives Vol. 1 Available for Pre-Order Now! Releases February 26, 2025
..perspective/pəˈspɛktɪv/ noun A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view. This compilation brings together ten unique artists, each refining their craft and shaping their own unique perspective on IDM. For some, it’s about intricate rhythms, glitchy stabs, fractured percussion, and off-kilter grooves. For others, it’s a melodic exploration, weaving familiar timbres into unexpected forms. And for some, it’s about pushing sonic boundaries... warping and mangling sound while remaining in the realm of coherence. IDM is a genre as vast as it is undefinable. Often, electronic music that resists traditional classification gets labeled IDM, but as idmdiscovery.com puts it:
"IDM is defined by individualistic experimentation and outside-the-box sound design." Whatever IDM means to you, IDM // Perspectives Vol. 1 delivers it in spades, textural and intricate.
A huge thank you to everyone who submitted, and congratulations to the artists featured on this release!

I want to thank you very sincerely for pushing me and encouraging me to finish my track “webs & flowers”. Around the beginning of the year, if you remember, I tried to let you know that I wasn’t going to make it in time to turn in a submission. Your patience with me and your willingness to push out your due date a little further for me… along with you saying something along the lines of (paraphrasing): “this release wouldn’t make sense without a track from YOU on it.” ;;;;;;;;;________;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; heart swell What I am trying to say is that this encouragement from you to me is was lit a fire under my ass to work day and night for about 2 weeks, basically starting with NOTHING, to make arguably one of the most palatable tracks I’ve ever made, and seriously one of the best mixdowns I’ve ever done.
The final masters on each track sound SO. F’IN. GOOD. Every track on this album is FIRE. I have been stoked about what you’re doing with GPR since probably the beginning? and Retro5 (where you encouraged me in a similar way with “Mute” while i was going through severe depression) was one thing, but for you to make me feel included in this… I am continuously reminded and reinforced in my brain-thinkings that you are a fantastic leader and project manager and I am inspired by how you’re shaping the (idmforums community project) into its future form the way it was meant to be. I am amazed by the other music submissions on this project. so much talent… it’s overwhelming.
This album is amazing. I am honored to be a part of it. I canNOT wait for more VA compilations! viva la GPR
Maximillion Bass and Liife are both our esteemed mastering engineer Darren Ziesing. Yeah, he can fucking PRODUCE too. There’s plenty more where that came from.
Congrats to everyone who featured on this release! lots of diversity, cool to see what IDM can be in the minds of many. Very happy to have the opportunity to be a part of it.
Extra thanks to @manton for putting this together and keeping things going around here. We all see what you’re doing and appreciate you a ton.
