I can’t be the only one who has that issue…? When I click on a topic, the screen turns black for 2-3 seconds, like a glitch, before going back to normal.
I have tried on 4 different browsers (Brave - my main one, Firefox, Chrome & Edge), being logged in or logged out, and it happens on all 4.
I’m on Windows 11, latest updates all done, etc. This is really irritating. Shame because aside from that, it looks great. Hopefully it’s an easy fix…?

Sorry to hear. This is not happening for me. I use Edge. Have you tried incognito mode and clearing your caches?
When you say, “the screen turns black”, do you mean your entire monitor, or just the browser? Are you using a laptop or desktop? Does it happen on your phone?

The whole monitor. That doesn’t happen on the phone. I usually never use my phone to check the forum. Since I work from home, I can use my personal laptop(s) pretty much whenever.
I thought this may have to do with anti-spyware/ad blockers some browsers use, but it shouldn’t happen on all 4 browsers. This is something that has happened in the past with other websites like Amazon, but way less frequently, and only on one or two browsers. As it is, it makes the forum mostly unusable. Note that it happens with Nord VPN off, so that’s not the cause.
I will try on my other laptop later today, see if that happens as well.
I will be interested to know if it happens on your other laptop. I did a quick Google search and it could be related to a driver, perhaps a loose ribbon cable that goes to your monitor. if you’re on windows, disabling hardware acceleration has been known to fix similar issues. It could be malware or an out-of-date bios.
I have two other computers, One of them is on windows 10 my other two are on Windows 11 so I will try both and see if I have any similar experiences.
It’s the weirdest thing and defo has something to do with the monitor. If I move my browser to the laptop screen, there is no problem there BUT the monitor will still go totally black when I click on a topic or link in the browser on the other screen…!!!
According to Microsoft, I have the latest driver for the ACER monitor. I tried to find one manually without luck.
I still don’t understand how a website can make the monitor glitch so hard. As I said before, it’s happened occasionally with other websites but with the new IDMf, it’s constant

Can you let us know what’s confusing so we can better understand? It’s pretty much the same as before except you have a sidebar now, which just adds another way to navigate the site

Although one thing is clear, the way the notifications are all separated is odd, and going to your profile is non-obvious, “people icon” > “Summary”
Just added levels of indirection in the flow and the appearance now
Yeah but if you click the bell icon, all notifications a listed in the same menu. You just have the option to separate into type if you want.
The Profile link I agree with. I look into if theres an option to changing that.

When I got back I felt like it was the right time to complete my first album
I was determined to make the technology work! It conspired against me surprisingly little compared to most trips where your phone or laptop glitches out in the weirdest way and only that one time.
I did have a good nap earlier and had the strangest abstract dream that took about an hour to dissipate from my headspace
When the forum was down I was like “well, they are either upgrading or its gone forever.” Glad it is the former. Looks fab.
It took me a bit of getting used to it but now I like the new colors. And cool that it’s connected to the discord now! Way to go, guys!
