Perhaps they’re mixing us up with other forums they are shamelessly promoting themselves on. I don’t recall any hate on this forum. I was really hoping at some point this person would give back after all the promo posts. I guess I have too much faith in people to do the right thing.
I’d like to apologise to everyone on here, you’re right there are no haters and I’m not entirely sure why I even said that now. It’s been a tough ride getting to where I am today. And I was’nt pointing the finger to anyone, and I hope we can put this to rest.
I was also under the impression I was posting on a Members releases page? So, promoting my release is ok on here right?
It takes character to apologize to a group like this and admit your mistakes. I respect that. This forum has had members that were here for many many years that, when they found themselves in similar situations, never were able to muster the guts to admit their mistakes and apologize, so good on ya.
You are correct, you are more than welcome to share and promote your material in the members releases. Please feel free to continue doing so.
That being said, the intention of this site is not simply for self promotion whenever the need arises. I would highly encourage you to spend more time engaging with others in various places across this forum if you want the work you share here to get positive engagement from the rest of the members.
I can tell you’re very passionate and excited about what you’ve achieved, and for good reason, you should be! and at the same time we all want our work to be heard and appreciated as well, so the engagement needs to go both ways. The people that thrive the most here are the people that frequently interact with others in a positive and uplifting way (when it comes to the music itself, but theres plenty of room for nonsense and shit posting from everyone as well).
Like the old adage says, “you get what you give”, and that is very much true here.
More than happy to throw all of this to the wind (not that I was initially involved, just an observer), and I think others will be happy to do the same.
