I’d be happy with something that’s less of a ‘competition’

The only reason the “competition” existed was to see which unfortunate bastard “won” and then had to host the next one… to ensure things continued :'D

if people wanted to always host and create packs, I see no issues with experimentation.

The objective was always to find who was in charge of the next one. Passing the torch to speak.

i think the competition aspect was a good, unique form of feedback for your track because the other tracks provide a specific point of comparison or measure and it’s something you don’t necessarily get in the listening booth where it’s like “nice track”, well, compared to what?
