BB122 - The Mad Doctor Remixed
It turns there’s a handful of old Disney shorts that are public domain. For this beat battle we’ll be re-scoring a segment of an old Mickey Mouse short called “The Mad Doctor”. The full short is available here:

Keeping in the spirit of having relatively short track limits on Beat Battles, for this one we’ll just be working with the first minute or so of the video. Didn’t want to set too aggressive of a challengw … want to make sure folks have some time to enjoy the holidays.

Rule 1:
The only audio source that you are allowed use is the audio from the original cartoon segment, which is provided as a .wav in the sample pack.
Rule 2:
Your score should should fit with the video, which is also provided in the sample pack. You are free to reimagine the score in whatever style/genre you want, you don’t necessarily have to follow the picture beat for beat, but you should try to have the audio have some sort of relation to the picture.
Rule 3 (really more like a suggestion…):
If you have the software to do so, you are encouraged, but not required, to submit your track as a video file, with your new score synced and layered over the original cartoon. You are free to remix/apply effects to the cartoon video as well if you have the skills for that stuff. The only restriction is that you should keep your submissions pretty close to the original length.
If you don’t have video software and/or don’t have the time/skills to edit video, it’s fine to post just the audio.
Deadlines :
Submissions must be posted by 9AM US Pacific Time on Sunday January 2nd.
Voting ends at 9AM on Monday December 3rd.
Beat Battle General Rules:
Beat Battles take place over the course of two weeks. The first ten days users will have to arrange, upload, and post their track to this forum. After this, the next three days users cast their votes for their favorite track. At the end of this, the winner will be announced, and they will then become the next Beat Battle host, and will have one day to construct a battle pack and begin the next Beat Battle.
Unless otherwise stated, the only sample/audio sources you may use for your song must come from the battle pack.
In the event of a tie, the battle host will decide the winner
**** in the event of winning the battle, the winner of the beat battle may be asked to make their track available for archive and also to hold onto to the project file of said “winning” track for in the event that it is to be considered for a best of the beat battles release ****
