Anyone other Self-Releasing Vinyl Labels here?

Just wondering if anyone else here releases there music via Vinyl, independently?

I’ve recently launched my new production Alias for more Techno/Experimental/IDM/Ambient styles - under the name CETE

I’ve had some great support so far, and wondering if I can help any other artists or labels in anyway, from recommendations for mastering engineers, to companies that cut/press the Vinyl? Or are there any artists out there that want to get their music on Vinyl, but not too sure where to start?

Drop me an email if you would like any info/help :

You can also check my latest Project here, the masters are now ready and this will be going to cut soon! Thanks for all your support.

Digital or Vinyl (4 track EP) available here:

Yep, I’ve done that once. I don’t plan on doing it ever again.

While it is highly satisfying to have your own vinyl record in your own hands (and just for that, I will never regret having done it - it’s such a fantastic feeling), you also soon realize that nobody buys vinyl records from unknown projects/bands.

International shipping is more expensive than the record itself. I’ve had quite a few folks passing on because of that. It sucks.

Mine was a study in worst possible timing. It was released in… January 2020. Then I proceeded to get COVID and it lasted over a month. By the time I felt better and was ready to hit the indie record stores in L.A. to maybe get some in their crates, the world was shutdown. Awesome. A year and a half later, I didn’t really care anymore.

The one thing that was amazing is that it paid itself off by the money it saved me in taxes the following year.

Anyway, if you’re curious:

Your comments are fair enough, but you also have to remember every artist was ‘unknown’ at some point…if you want to get somewhere you just gotta stick at it and be consistent. And you will gain a fan base on the way.

I’m lucky enough to be releasing/setting up this new techno based project off the back of another alias for more Rave/Jungle styles music. But yet again, that originally was an unknown name until I believed in it and helped make it grow.

My advice to anyone planning on this sort of thing is - Back yourself 100% (no-one else will!)

Of course.

I guess you are in your 20’s or 30’s, which means I’m way older than you. I have a full time “career” (read: corporate job) & a wife. I’m way past hoping for a music career. Spending all the little time I have outside of work doing promo work for very meager results is just not worth it.

Good luck to you!
