3D Photogrammetry: How to get good meshes from picture sets?

#1

Hey all,

I have to repair a cabinet with some broken plastic parts and want to scan, fix and print the broken parts, but my results of scanning are not so great so far. I tried a few programs such as Meshroom, VirtualSFM, Metashape and 3D Zephyr (that one gave me the best results so far but still not that great).

Any experiences with that stuff?
What is the best (hopefully free) program you used so far?
How many pictures do you usually use to get good results?
Any tips and tricks or special techniques?

Here are some of my results so far lol:

God thanks for creating google translate. Nope. I don’t have experience with a 3D printer.
