The Software Modular Hub

AAS Multiphonics CV-3 came out about a month (or so?) ago, and it’s not a terrible upgrade like I had originally thought. Most of the quirks from 1 and 2 still exist (running out of room for new modules, only a few macros, almost no MIDI CC support to speak of), but the new oscillators have VCAs and EGs baked into them, which is great for newbies. More ‘synth-on-the-go’ style modules are happening here, although the biggest feature they boast is polyphony.

(Also, spoiler alert, but their version of polyphony doesn’t involve any cool routing whatsoever, it’s just so you can play chords from the DAW)

Quirks and all, it’s pretty decent for a weird $40 upgrade

Kdenlive (the shitty FOSS video editor I use) fucked up the intro that I worked really hard on, but I had some fun recording this when CV-3 dropped. I probably won’t win anyone over or convert them to modulardom with this, but I sped up the initializing parts and skimming kind of gives you the same picture. I definitely don’t recommend watching 45 minutes of this

The new modules are pretty nice, though. AAS does a pretty good job with physical modelling, as usual

Nah still pretty unstable…There is an open source version in the works called Rebuzz.
