The NI Kontakt Libraries Thread

I have Komplete 12 and other 3rd party instruments/libraries but for the life of me I can’t bring myself to like Kontakt. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know. Prob the interface, I guess.

I know , the interface is a true nightmare to work with.
The option tab & other settings inside Kontakt … it’s way too small … not resizable … on a 5k display it’s just impossible …
But i’m sure they’ll update their GUI, no other choice in 2020 …

As an example … just to compare … look at Falcon, resizable GUI … it’s such a pleasure to work with …

To be totally fair, i should compare Falcon with Reaktor …
It’s the same, inside Reaktor, the GUI is just a joke …
But still, i’ve always used Ni products & always will, but it’s time for a change i think …

& to finish Ni off … even Max 4 Live does it better …

But heyyyy … it’s not the subject here i guess …
That being said, it was just a GUI comparison … still their libraries are fantastic to me …

amazing library indeed …
the only thing is that on my computer, the patch load is quite long, not the library itself but the patches … weird … that being said, the overall quality is pretty stunning.

you should never pay the full price of their libraries, i know i should not say that, not very supportive for the devs but hey … they drop the prices down so many times in the year. I got all the Rigid Audio libraries for 50 euros or so …

Yep…Dennis is a generous guy…everything he (Rigid Audio) releases is initially for only a few bucks and then goes up to “full price” after a few weeks. And, yes, he offers them on and off at reduced prices, too…but really well worth it.

Like you, I own everything he’s ever released…and like you, I don’t think I’ve ever paid the full price. Sometimes I wonder how the guy can keep the lights on with a business model like that, but it obviously must be working for him or he wouldn’t do it.

All in all, he’s a really nice guy who turns out some really solid and great sounding plugins, that ae well worth the price he charges.
