Watch Resurrection with my friend who I’ve been going through the movies with. She liked it (didn’t know Weaver was back). We started watching Romulus, but the Hulu adds were painful, so we’ll watch it later from my PC. When Romulus started she was like “God, they can make these movies forever and I’ll love it.” lol
So yeah, apparently my friend was a closeted Alien superfan this whole time.
We haven’t yet scraped the bottom of the barrel, but I like that shitty movie for what it is.
I’ve heard good things about it! I haven’t read many Alien comics since the Dark Horse days, but I recommend The Destroying Angels if you like Alien comics. Doug Wheatley’s art is really nice:
I don’t know about you guys, but honestly, with main franchise films, I’d really prefer if Predator did not make an appearance.
Don’t get me wrong, the crossover has been a staple for decades, and brought some very fun games, sick graphic novels, and super stupid but entertaining films. Plus, I really love The Predator OG film and some of the others and like the creatures as their own stand alone entity.
I just feel like they need to leave the main franchise out of any crossovers with Predators. I feel like whenever predator is around, the whole vibe shifts form tense horror to… well… something else. IDK what. I just want the Xeno’s to be the main creature focus, they have so much to offer on their own. And feel like if there is truly going to be a predator cameo in the Romulus sequel, my heart will sink a bit.
What do you guys think?
PS. Romulus, has grown on me a bit. There are still plenty of things about it that I think are whack, but I feel like i can enjoy it now without getting all pissed and nit-picky. Maybe there is a part of me that is waiting for something as good as Alien to come out in the franchise, and honestly i don’t think it will ever happen.
It’s astounding how bad it is. Maybe they should have saved the money used for the shitty use of licensed songs (Stinkfist……seriously?) and put it towards not making the alien look like shit.
First shot of the creature is a closeup of the fucking costume seam lol
I liked the first episode. I’m much more forgiving with modernized reboots. all that matters is that I’m entertained or the production quality is good. I guess… it has to be “fully watchable” lol.
I lost interest after episode 2. I mean I’ll watch it eventually I guess. I’m not watching a ton of tv these days. I would have rather have Alien Earth be a different story following a completely different set of characters each episode all centrally tied to the events of the ship crash, like how Black Mirror does that or something. I would have been fine with letting go of the child-robots and the weird brother-sister story. Whatevs.
