Free plugins!

Hey thanks for this, i will try this out

https://www.sweetwater.com/software/komplete-15-select

If you have a US address (or can make one up) you can get Komplete 15 select free, which includes MASSIVE X. I have been intrigued by that one for a while, so I’ll defo be jumping on this myself.

Wow, thanks so much for bringing this up!

NI has been crushing it with sales lately, and keeping their legacy stuff in good working order. Getting Massive X for nothing on top of everything else is fucking fabulous.

There’s three versions, and ā€œelectronicā€ also comes with TRK-01 and Replika XT, which both look pretty sick too.

It took me a couple tries to get this right, you want to log in to your NI account, then use the link in the sweetwater email and add the version you want, then redeem the voucher while checking out once you are already logged in.

I’ve heard of some people having luck giving alt address/email info and getting 2 or 3 codes to get more of the stuff, but I think I’ll be satisfied with one.

Tone2 make great synths, so this is probably a good one to grab!

Just used this $99 off to grab a couple goodies. Can confirm it works!

No idea when the promotion is ending.

Can confirm that using 4 different emails to get all of their plugins for free with that code works!

hahaha you bastard. I thought about it but felt bad, somehow, so I didn’t

Chances of me actually installing these: 45%

Chances of me using what I’ve installed: 0%

But I like to keep my options open

No worries, I hear you. I would never have bought them in the first place anyway.

I had tried Wave Warper 2 and it’s certainly fun… but you can’t automate it in FL Studio, so that kind of killed it for me.

I tried TimeFlux today and grabbed it to dick around with later. This one looks like a case of potential happy sonic accidents waiting to happen. It’s a standalone only, although it can incorporate effects from other VSTs. Strange beast. There’s no tempo or option to stretch samples to a specific tempo, which I find strange.

Edited to add: you CAN automate in FL studio, using ā€œlast tweakedā€ option.

Wow, I thought these were going to be shovelware. They actually seem pretty cool for a company who’s not blocking anyone from putting a random period in their email address. Can’t wait to try them all out!

I’m not anal enough to do it, but there are plenty of sample packs within that price range, too.

I will vouch for the quality of their sample packs. I’ve had both Mechanism and Lost Transmissions for the better part of a decade and have found them really high quality and useful, even after moving to doing most of my own field recording. Clean, professional, creative, and come with both source and processed samples which is really flexible.

Really? You can’t even map it to the multilink knob?

Correction: you can automate. I forgot the ā€œlast tweakedā€ options from tools. I just tried a random one on the XY Pad and it worked, although it behaved strangely - not really fully following the automation :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Looks like all of the params are there, and then some

Yep, I forgot about ā€œlast tweakedā€. My bad!

I actually couldn’t get them to show up that way, but if you do it in patcher and then activate what controls you want, you’re good to automate them all.

I think it’s internally handling them via MIDI CC loopbacks or something, but thankfully Patcher knows what to do

NGL I don’t use Patcher. I haven’t had much of a need for it. Maybe I should look into it.

All you have to do is click on inputs > parameters, and then to the right I’m controlling it via automation. It’s a lot simpler than most people think!
