No idea what I’m actually doing yet as I’m only about 5 minutes in, but it already feels like Shape Reaktor™. I think it was added in the last update, and if the scripting API involves any of this shit, oh man. There goes my weekend part II: Electric boogaloo
Is this Android? I just got some souped-up tablet thing with a stylus and it’s feeling like my new logo prototype machine (a very weak point for me). Krita runs kind of like a desktop app and if this is any bit sleeker, I need to check out what exists otherwise.
I don’t trust Clip Studio anymore due to their shitty pay-forever model, but I’m on the hunt for cheap shit that gets the job done. Sucks that everything on mobile is at least a nickel or dime for a decent UI, but at least upgrades are usually free
Yeah, Ibis Paint X is definately android. If you turn off wifi/cell it doesn’t have any annoying ads, but you don’t have full access to all the brushes. Watch an ad and you get 18 hour access to the brushes, so it’s pretty free. Only really annoying thing is the ad at the top of the screen, but you forget about it after a while, especially with no internet.
Edit: I just downloaded an APK because fuck Google and their total lack of privacy.
Good luck with your Blender adventures @KvlT! Let us know what you come up with - I’m sure you will make good use of it! I can’t really help, did a few small things for my Unreal projects mostly, like small modifications to models I got from other places (like damaged variations), a few plants and some very simple sci-fi stuff. I guess the most complicated thing I did was a spider-like robot I used as an enemy in a project and animated mostly with a procedural walk plugin for Unreal. I was so proud when the rigging was done, I got the plugin to work and the thing finally started to walk lol…
There is some cool “addon” type stuff on the Blender market page (or whatever it is called), but I guess you will dive deep into the procedural stuff quickly, so the marketplace probably won’t be very interesting to you apart from maybe some inspiration with regard to what can be done.
Personally, I would love to use Blender again, but haven’t even touched Unreal in a while, just way too much stuff to do for work and family at the moment…
I actually made a really dumb mistake – my stock graphics card can’t support Blender at all! I was wondering why shit was just crashing every time I did a few things or changed tabs, and as it turns out, I don’t even meet the minimum requirements for it. I think I need 4x the VRAM, so I’m an idiot for not checking that out before I got too excited about using it
Also, I know you probably haven’t worked on it in a little while, but how’s your game coming along?
Hope you get a new laptop at some point. Crazy that you do all your awesome stuff with some old potato hehe…
And thank you very much for asking about my game! Sadly, no time for it at the moment… Of course, there’s still so much I would like to improve, starting with further optimization, but before free time got really rare for me, at least I finished most things I wanted to add… Also squished all the major bugs reported so far. Last things I added were some AI translations of the menu and subtitles… So it’s in a hiatus-but-somewhat-kinda-maybe-readyish-for-public-beta-testing phase I guess…
If you want to give it another try, let me know. Although you might already have the latest version that I packaged… time really flies without mercy… I guess the good thing is, the longer I wait, the more people will meet minimum specs
