Ableton Issue

I have recently started trying to use ableton to make a mix and I am having an issue with importing certain tracks. For instance, I loaded one track I want to use and I know it is 86 BPM, I spin it via Tractor all the time. But when I drop it in ableton is shows up and something stupid like 58.3 BPM and is all warped crazy and sounds horrible. Im still new with ableton and was hoping someone here could give me some advice as how to fix it. This is also not the only track this happens with. Thanks.

Re: Ableton Issue

I think you just have to click on "warp" in the clip view to deactivate the warp function. Sometimes you also have to drag the start marker above the waveform to the left to prevent the beginning of a wav file of being skipped. Then you should be good to go.
You can deactive autowarp under preferences -> record/warp/launch -> autowarp long samples.

Re: Ableton Issue

I just recently had this problem! It was always choppy if I tried to raise or lower the BPM. There is box labeled "Beats" under the warp option on your audio track. If you want your audio track to be smooth with the warp on make sure you select the "Complex Pro" option. Hope that helps!

Re: Ableton Issue

in some cases you need to beatmatch the track manually.

Re: Ableton Issue

Im still having major issues. I have been turning off the warp for certain tracks that are fidgety, and it works just fine. Track matches the BPM just fine. But I am still having this issue with a handful of tracks. Usually it will happen when I drop a track in, (which I know for a fact is the correct tempo that I am using for this mix, in this case 86 BPM) and when I drop the track in it will be a random ass tempo such as 75.897 BPM. And if I turn off the warping the track will adjust and seem to correct itself, but when I go to beatmatch and mix it, it is completely off. THis is throwing my mix off pretty badly, Id love to use these tracks in this mix. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Ableton Issue

Have you tried adjusting the tempo on both the master and the audio track itself?

Re: Ableton Issue

Read the manual. ALL tracks are warp-able if you know what you are doing.
