The Zoom MS70CDR seems to be an amazing little box! It's cheap, has a display and most important: It's stereo!
Does it have reverse delay algorithms?

Yes. Only 1 though. Here's a link to the updated v2.0 FX list PDF.
If there's any you want to hear, let me know which ones, and I'll upload some audio through the MS.

That zoom pedal seems like what I want, up to six effects in a row, correct?

Yes, providing you don't go over the DSP limit, Which means you can't have lots of of user chains with 6 effects,. There are 50 slots for chains. How many you can have depends on the DSP load in the chains. Things like HD Hall reverb will take up more DSP than say, a simple flanger.

Re: Hardware Multi effects

The Zoom CDR is pretty usable and for the money a pretty good bet. I never really figured out how to navigate the thing, so I only ever used the presets.

Re: Hardware Multi effects

I recently added an empress echo system to my collection, I think it's really great. Lots of algo's, quite easy to navigate, and you can even stack 2 algo's. The tape and BBD algo's can get really dirty, other algo's include pitch shifters, reverbs, chorus etc

You're welcome.
Thom know's where it's at as usual.
I was just going to say that in my time I have seen a few but never THE one you must have, more like one box does a few things well and another does something else.
Even my friend's Studio Quads didn't do everything.

For you in particular I'd suggest going for a good filter/distortion combo and a really high quality reverb box of some kind.
I'd say Sherman filterbank and an eventide or something similar.
Definitely go for used if possible to save some cash.

That would be awesome!
Actually it´s difficult to decide which ones...There are so many interesting effects!
Could you record audio with the following effects?

ReverseDL
MultiTapD
TrgHldDly
A-Pan DLY
ModReverb
ReverseRv
A-Filter

Thx mate!

Will do. I'll do 1 from MS-70 CDR, and 1 from the Boss VF-1 as that has some pretty nice delays, reverbs and other stuff. and be picked up cheap too. I'll set a short sequence up with short and long notes, so you get a better idea.

I've got a Digitech Studio quad, the before mentioned Ensoniq DP4, a Sony DPSV55, and an Alesis Q2.

Until I got into a console again I wasn't really using them much and it was bumming me out, now I'm back in the analog mixing realm they've been great, 6 aux sends work nice as an FX matrix when you return the FX out back to channels. A patch bay is imminent for more flexibility.

Indeed, Thom is correct.

Man, steeboo. This is gonna hurt my wallet. That’s a dope pedal! Two algo stereo delay that sounds sweet! They seem to rival Strymon (with a price to match). I’ve set my eye on these.

Re: Hardware Multi effects

Hers the demo for the Zoom and the Boss
The zoom one I talk for a while and say which FX is coming up. In the boss I don't talk, so the 1st sounds are the MS 20 without FX, then I go through about 40 of the 200 preset multi chains, starting with guitar, bass, 2 synth, 2 rotary, and then choruses, reverbs, and delays in no particular order

Yes I really dig it. Had a timeline which I loved but did not feel very tweakable because the params I liked were buried in the menu. The empress definitely is on the same level of sound quality, but easier to tweak. Midi works with a midi2jack plug, which is not the most pretty way but it works. I've been thinking about making a vid, hope I'll find time soon because there is not much content online synth-wise.

Hey man, awesome demos! I'm definately getting the Zoom MS-70 CDR. Actually I was looking for a multi fx box for use on stage, but this thing seems to have some nice whacky algorithms and also it sounds great.
Can't wait to use it for resampling in the OT.

The Boss VF-1 also sounds good, have to listen to your demo again tomorrow!

I' hadn't used the VF-1 with the MS 20 like that before. Pretty good fun. Had the high and low pass filters at 4 and 6 like a wide band pass filter, but if you narrow them down to about 5 it's surprising just how much like a guitar it can sound.

I admit there are some other multi chains that I didn't demo that really do make you think that. As it was I had to resist the urge to narrow the filters and go all Hendrix during the demo. Was having a blast with that, as I was going through the presets. For someone like me, who for the life of them can't play the guitar it's awesome fun.

The 100 only has 9 reverbs to the MS-70's 29. It doesn't have the gate, reverse, lofi, Holy, Dyna, Shimmer, Particle, Space hole, Duel, Mangled, and a few others.

Ms 100 13 delays to the MS-70's 26. The 70 has 137 effects, but not the dist/overdrive and amp sims that the 100 has, which is 29. If you take that out of the MS-100's effects that brings it down to having about half that of the MS 70. You can buy extra effects for the MS-100 though, but what ones I couldn't say.
