Re: The big user Request Thread (for 9)

I'd love LFO controls for everything basically. Although I think they've already stated that its not possible without building the whole thing from the bottom up. Or reducing performance massively. Can't remember where I seen that though.

Automation curves would be lovely too! So simple to implement i'd of thought, and time saving.

I'm liking some of the suggestions so far.

Re: The big user Request Thread (for 9)

This may sound silly but I would like to have a way to make inter-daw collabs easier.

Like a way of exporting and translating midi notes/info into another daw.
I know that it's absurd to think about translating a whole song, but what about Riffs/piano rolls.

I would like to be able to receive a remix package by a Logic user and be able to import single instrument tracks with midi info.

This would be a dream.

EDIT: 20. sidechain everything (requested by d-track) LOL

Re: ABLETON LIVE: User/FAQ thread

in assigning MIDI control? yes it is. it defines how your computer and device communicate.

in pickup mode, you have to manually move your control on your MIDI device to match the device Ableton has before Ableton takes over. in Takeover, the two are always matched in harmony. hope that makes sense and is correct.

a better explanation would be that one is absolute while the other is relative.
the same way clip envelopes works.

Hi,

for some reason I cannot find mono-tool. I tried to innstall fresh without any luck.

Familiar?

Re: ABLETON LIVE: User/FAQ thread

I need some advice. I want to learn Abelton (mainly for live performance) but I don't want to spend the money on the full version, and I don't want to pirate.

Is Ableton Live Intro worth the money? Do you think I'll feel confined by its limitations?

I basically want to use Ableton to play and mix completed stems in a live setting using a MIDI controller. I won't be using it to process any audio, or anything like that. Basically, I'll just use it as a way to organize my live backing tracks and mix them.

Thoughts?

Live intro has plenty of limitations but from what I understand of your desires, you should only be concerned with track count and scene count limitations. You can have up to 64 tracks in a live intro project, but only 8 scenes. So think of that as only 8 sections of a tune per live set. Quite limiting unless you want to load a new set for every song. Looks like you'll need to figure something else out.

Yeah, thanks. I think I have an old Live LE somewhere, and it looks like I can upgrade to Live Lite for free. So I should be able to check this out.

I also think I should just learn Ableton.

Re: ABLETON LIVE: User/FAQ thread

Does anyone know how to group the different instruments together in session view? Like put hi-hats in one folder, synths in another? So you can get them out of the way when not using them? I saw someone do this in a tutorial video and I can't find out how to do it. Yes, I looked through the manual.
