Please help me choose among these VST synths!

Hello!

I have decided to keep my Vst plugins to a minimum amount. I have these ones currently:

Albino 3
Minimonsta
Korg Legacy
Dune
Sylenth1
Dcam Synth Squad
Minimoog
Circle

Which ones should i keep of these ones ? I still want to be allow to create any sound possible for House and electronic music but with a minimum amount of tools.

Please help me choose. I want a minumum of 3-4 Vst synths to make it more clear but maximum 3.

keep the ones you use the most.

and if you have any pirated ones, ditch 'em. (not an accusation just to be clear, i've used lots of pirated stuff myself, however i've slimmed down to a point where i can only think of one thing i haven't payed for. and that, i'm workin on. :V)

Re: Please help me choose among these VST synths!

both these things ^

keep them all, but stick with one or two until you learn them inside out, then move to the next and learn that inside out, then you can better decide which one to use at which time.

and if you must get rid of some, keep the ones you use most.

personally, out of those i only use albino and sylenth, but if i had to choose from them i would choose albino. whatever you do dont get rid of albino!

Yeah, I'd say Sylenth1. I have DCAM but I don't use it that often...

Re: Please help me choose among these VST synths!

Sylenth is just so easy to program so I use it all the time.

Strobe (DCAM) is another one I tend to use a bit. Once I got my head around how it modulates things I found it also to be a quick to program synth and have started to use it more.

I'm messing around with Dune at the moment, getting my head around it's modulation and I think I may end up with that to.

But as was said stick to one at first until you know. Out of the lot I would choose Sylenth first.

If you've ever used a VST in the project, you should keep it.

Not condoning piracy:
I have quite a few pirated VSTs, though they aren't anywhere near the current versions. If I ever get out of producing as a hobbyist and start making some money selling tracks I'd put the money toward buying plug-ins and hardware though.

if youve got 180 dollars to spend on it then yes. i got it a long time ago when i was still learning synths and it really helped me understand the concept of synthesis, but i dont use it very much any more. although i still love its sound, i feel limited with it now because i like to "over synthesise"

Where do your drums come from?

I recommend: Punch and Nepheton

Re: Please help me choose among these VST synths!

Dune
Sylenth
Albino

Ditch the rest if your wanting too and splurge on some extra effects VSTs

But alas, I have hundreds of VSTs, both freeware and pro. I've tried slimming down too. I Actually spent a whole weekend writting down ones to delete. However I kept more than I deleted based on the fact I layer and resynthasize audio from multiple synths both soft and hard based on the different sound(s) I get from all these tools.

First, keep the one syou legally own.
Second, as said above, keep the ones you regularly use and know the best.

I pull out drum hits I like and layer them with other hits and sometimes using little sounds to add flavor. I apply effects and EQ as I go along to give it the right sound
