Very chilled vibe. I think the bass drum is a little too loud.
The 2-note bassline is great (I know its not 2-note all the way through, but you know the part I mean ).
The simple chord progression works really well around that 2-note bassline, like it a lot.
Some of the background FX are rather wonderful.
Good track, cheers for sharing
I think I'll sneak in another listen before I go do something else.
This is pretty good, there's a nice beat going on and the sounds in the background are very well chosen.
I really really like when it switches to a two-chord progression, it really adds some much needed character to the track.
I agree though that the bass drum (and maybe the drums in general) are slightly too loud.
Also, the drum beat has a snare hit like 1/16th before the loop starts over again, which I think should be placed a little earlier so it's a little more rhythmic. Not sure if you get what I'm saying.
Personally I want more from it (but Im not a minimal guy so maybe dont listen to me). Like a lead, vocs, or something. The edits and FX are really nice, the ambience work well. Sub is nice. And middle range synth thing dadada. But yeah something more.
Sounds like the kick could use some more compression (more square shaped waveform). Its a bit "hard" now "sounds a bit "un". Or maybe just a bit lower in the mix. But I think compression is better here. Will make it go more ooomph then un.
I agree now that I listen to it again... Think I should add compression to all the drums? Or better off to just lower the volume on everything but the kick?
Never had the problem of anything being too loud haha. I always struggled to make it sound as loud as other tracks. Happy to be making progress!
Try to compress only kick. I think it will do good.
What you want is to compress the very first part of the peak of the kick, and leave the rest uncompressed. That makes the kick all in all more square shaped. It will be perceived more or less the same volume (maybe bit lower) however it will not stick out so much in the mix and will not sound as hard on the ears however still very present
